The gite is within walking distance of the busy village of Le Donjon. Digoin and Lapalisse both offer a nice choice of restaurants and shops along with busy local markets. Both are a 20 minute drive away and Moulins, Roanne and Vichy are 40 minutes away. You can walk down to the fabulous farmers market in the local village of Le Donjon on a Tuesday morning.

Château les Bernards is een prachtig landgoed, waar we heel gastvrij zijn ontvangen door de eigenaren Debbie en Simon. Het landgoed is heel uitgestrekt met prachtige oude bomen. Wij hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad. Genoten van de schoonheid en rust op het landgoed, maar ook van het zwembad en de tennisbaan. Echt een aanrader!
Restaurants, food & wine
There are 3 restaurants within walking distance plus a very popular coffee shop in the village. The local town of Lapalisse boasts some lovely traditional french restaurants. Saint-pourçain-sue-Sioule is. 35 minute drive and offers some lovely local wine and a fabulous Saturday Market.
Activities
We are only 20 minutes away from Le Pal theme park. There are numerous hiking and cycling trails around the local area and you can walk to the nearest fishing lake at Le Donjon. 30 minutes will get you to the local wake boarding park. There are also several local spots that hire out canoes and kayaks.
