The house
Gîte Hirondelle, detached cottage, 54 m2, with swimming pool in the South of France
Arrival and departure on Saturday, minimum 7 nights. Deviation in consultation.
The cosy and comfortably furnished gîte "Hirondelle" is on the ground floor, very spacious and offers a lot of privacy.
"Hirondelle" has its own entrance and two private terraces; a terrace at the front and a terrace by the stream.
Your terraces are equipped with a large and a small dining table, comfortable chairs, a fan and a barbecue.
The gîte sleeps a maximum of 2 people from 18 years and is non-smoking inside.
However, smoking is allowed outside on the terrace of the gîte.
The gîte has a living/dining room with an open kitchen, a bedroom and a spacious bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin.
In addition to the usual inventory, the open kitchen is equipped with 4 gas hobs, dishwasher, large oven, toaster, coffee machine or Senseo coffee machine, kettle, large fridge with a large freezer compartment.
Also provided as a service: kitchen towel, tea towel, new dish towel, new scouring pad, kitchen roll, bin liners, dishwasher detergent, cleaning products, 2 hand pumps of soap, pepper, salt and coffee filters.
The spacious bathroom is equipped with bath towels, bath mat and toilet paper.
The two single beds are 2 metres long, of excellent quality and come with duvets. We have already made the beds for you.
Towels, bed linen and kitchen linen are included in the rental price.
In the gîte, you can watch TV with your own favourite apps on a bigger screen using Google Chromecast and listen to music via a bluetooth speaker.
The gîte can be heated with electric heaters and a wood-burning stove.
You have a nice view of the communal swimming pool (4 x 8m, 1.80m deep) and the valley.
On our grounds there are plenty of (reclining) chairs available for our guests both in the sun and in the shade.
In the gîte you will find a folder with regional information that will quickly bring you up to speed on activities.
You will also find a folder in which we have described for you a large number of walks in Dutch.
To allow all our guests to enjoy the quiet and relaxed atmosphere:

Fields of sunflowers, poppies, lavender, vineyards and walnut groves are interspersed with rugged mountain peaks, impressive natural monuments, rivers and gentle Alpine pastures with sheep and lambs.
Even at our house, you will regularly hear the bells of the flock of sheep passing by.
The combination of low mountains and good weather makes the region extremely fascinating.
In the Diois, the work is largely organic.
This means that no pesticides are used.
Let yourself be surprised by the unspoilt nature with an unprecedented fauna and flora.
The variety, the flora, the fauna with its scents and colours is a feast for every nature lover.
The Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors, with its many old villages, caves and museums, is 20 kilometres away.
In the Diois, there are many small villages and towns with a long history from the Roman times and/or the Middle Ages.
For example, Luc en Diois, Châtillon en Diois, Die, Saillans, La Motte Chalancon.
Furthermore, in this region there are many activities and festivities such as;
- Village festival in Beaumont in June and August.
- The Transhumance during two days, when the sheep leave for the Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors.
- The feast of Clairette de Die, the regional light sparkling white wine.
- The art and wine week in Chatillon en Diois at the beginning of August.
- Many music festivals.
- Flea markets.
- Many village festivals, mostly focusing on regional products.
- The lavender festival in Leches en Diois.
- The walnut festival in Luc en Diois.
In addition, in many villages there is a regular morning market where local producers offer their honestly prepared and fragrant products.
Delicious Picodon goat cheeses in various flavours, wine, honey, walnuts, walnut oil, breads, lamb, vegetables, herbs, sausages, cheese, soaps, essential oils and much more are presented to you.
Regional artists are also present at these markets, selling pottery, jewellery, clothes and wicker baskets, among other things.
For shopping, you have to go to the neighbouring village of Luc en Diois, 6 kilometres away.

Hebben een heerlijke week gehad in gîte Hirondelle. De gîte is erg prettig en voorzien van alles wat je nodig hebt voor een aangenaam verblijf. Reint en Margot zijn zeer gastvriendelijk, de broodjes service elke ochtend vonden wij fantastisch. Mooie omgeving, lekker zwembad....ach....alle ingrediënten voor een heerlijke vakantieweek zijn aanwezig! We hebben genoten!

A lot of wine is grown in the region. The grapes are mostly used to make Clairette de Die; the regional sparkling drink.
Many villages have a weekly morning market where local producers offer their fairly prepared and fragrant wares.

Together with the accompanying map, you can go for a relaxed walk independently.
From our house, guests can make more than 10 different walks, varying from a moderate to a difficult level and from short to long.
In addition, we have described many walks in the region of the Diois and in the Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors. The starting point for these walks can be reached by means of a car trip that leads through beautiful scenery.
If you like to make a bike tour, there are many possibilities in the Diois, because the region is on the border of the Alps and the Provence.
You can start cycling directly from our accommodation.
The Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors, with its many cycling/mountain biking routes, is only 20 kilometres away.
For the well-trained cyclist with road bike or mountain bike there are many possibilities.
Also with the e-bike you can make beautiful trips on quiet roads.
We offer routes, maps and good advice.
Attention: With a "normal" city bike and/or a bad condition you will not get far.
You can safely "store" your bikes and equipment in a covered and enclosed area.
If you like to make a tour with your car or motorbike, there are many possibilities in the Drôme.
The region is situated on the border of the Alps and the Provence.
This gives you a very varied landscape, but also the possibility to make a trip to the Provence in the south or the Alps in the north.
If you stay in the region, the Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors with its many routes at 20 kilometres is a must.
If you want to drive more kilometres one day, you can make a beautiful daytrip to the Mont Ventoux in the south, to the Alpe d'Huez in the north, the Rhône valley in the west or to the east towards Gap and the "Lac de Serre-Ponçon".
We also offer routes, maps and good advice.
For the motorcyclists we also have routes that they can load into their GPS.
Motorbikes can be parked safely, dry and out of the sun under our carport.
If you want to come by car and take your motorbike on the trailer, we have enough parking space available for you.

Further remarks
Gîte "Hirondelle" is part of "Au Moulin d'Antan".
In this former water mill with outbuildings, we offer 5 gîtes / holiday homes.
All are suitable for two people over 18.
Together with the other guests, you can use the swimming pool.
In total, we receive a maximum of 12 guests.
If tranquillity, the French countryside, nature, comfort and cosiness appeal to you, you will undoubtedly have a wonderful time with us.
