The house
Spacious, luxury gite 'Le Pinatou' of 54 m2, for 2-4 persons, in an authentic hamlet, with private entrance, garden and driveway. In our old, sturdy farmhouse we have transformed a part into a luxurious, very spacious, authentic looking gite for 2 to 4 persons. Every detail has been thought over extensively in order to let you enjoy the old, characteristic style of the south of the Auvergne: natural stone walls, white plastered partition walls, wooden posts, round, wooden beams and beautiful, handmade furniture and details. All this has resulted in a nostalgic looking gîte, but with all modern comfort and luxury.
The furnishing: spacious living room with sitting area and good sofa bed (plus extra topper for 3rd and 4th person), dining area, bedroom with double bed with new mattress, luxurious bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet, kitchen corner with 4-burner cooker, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, kitchen utensils, etc. Private spacious garden with garden furniture and barbecue, overlooking woods and an old volcano.

Le Pinatou is located in the Haute-Loire, on the border of the Ardèche and southwest of Lyon, near the Livradois-Forez National Park. It is ideal for people who love peace, space, nature, history and outdoor sports.
The south of the Auvergne is characterised by a very diverse landscape: numerous volcanoes, hills, mountains, rough gorges (river valleys) and beautiful views.
In the area, you will find many typical French villages and cities, such as the ancient city of Le Puy-en-Velay (UNESCO World Heritage), the cathedral and monastery complex of La Chaise-Dieu, many picturesque small villages (including some 'Plus beaux villages de France'), magnificent ancient fortresses and castles, charming churches and chapels with imposing bell towers, as well as the old cultural rural heritage, such as old bread ovens, washing places, fountains and chibottes (stone shelters for shepherds and farmers).

We werden hartelijk welkom geheten door Tom, Marielle en kinderen.
Na aankomst hebben we ingeruimd en daarna samen geborreld.
Ons verblijf was prima, heerlijk rustige omgeving.
De gite is goed, indeling prima, en van heel veel gemakken voorzien.
De informatiemap is heel handig en Tom en Marielle staan klaar als er vragen zijn.
We hebben een heerlijk weekje gehad in de Auvergne.Ietie en Arend from Leerdam,
Heerlijke vakantieweek gehad in een heel fijne gîte. Leuke ontvangst met "bubbels".. Genoten van de mooie tuin met keuze uit 3 zitjes/terras. Goede uitvalsplek voor de prachtige omgeving. Rust en vrijheid. Echt een aanrader!

een heerlijke vakantie gehad op een fantastische plek. Meer dan een warm welkom bij aankomst, het huisje is van alles voorzien en er is een map aanwezig met pareltjes van locaties in de buurt. Supermarkt en bakkers voor Franse bergrippen dichtbij huis. Wij komen zeker nog een keer terug om de rest van ons lijstje te kunnen zien!
Nogmaals heel erg bedankt voor de gastvrijheid, de fijne plek en de gezelligheid. Wij kijken nu al uit naar de spelletjes avond.
Restaurants, food & wine
In the immediate vicinity, artisanal cheeses, sausages, honey, etc. are made. Many of these local producers can be visited (Bienvenue à la ferme programme). There are also local markets where these products are sold.
Good and cheap food is also still possible here. In restaurants, the prices of a complete multi-course menu are between 11 and 30 euro.
Enjoy the world-famous Le Puy lentils, accompanied by a delicious glass of Velave (local beer) or a bottle of Auvergnat wine. A glass of Verveine is also a must.
Activities
The area is perfect for walking, mountain biking, cycling, swimming in natural water or in a water paradise, fishing, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, mountain climbing, paragliding, golfing, karting, canopy (adventure course through the treetops), vélorail (cycling over an old railway line), a ride in a dog sledge, visiting 'the farmer', etc. But there is also a lot to do culturally. But also culturally there is a lot to do: the city Le Puy-en-Velay is worth a visit (3 stars according to Michelin!), but also the many ancient villages and the mysterious castles and abbeys. For children, the miniature park about the Auvergne is fun.
