The house
Peace, space and beautiful nature. On the border of the Puy-de-dome and the Haute Loire, surrounded by vast forests and meadows, you will find this beautiful holiday home. La Mesange Charbonniere offers you all the comfort you want and feels like your own home. The fully equipped luxury kitchen has all appliances and a cosy round dining table. In the adjoining lounge, you can relax optimally. You have a beautiful wide view over the adjacent meadows. When the weather is nice, open the garden doors and enjoy the peace and quiet that the surroundings offer you. During the cooler period you light the wood-burning stove (wood is included), and the room is heated by underfloor heating. In the sunny spacious garden you can enjoy the peace and quiet and a delicious BBQ. For the youngest guests, the large fenced garden is a wonderful place to play.

The holiday home La Mesange Charbonniere (translation: The Great Tit) is located in the Auvergne in the small hamlet of Champmort, in the middle of the Parc Naturel Regional Livradois-Forez. The gite is surrounded by meadows and vast forests and lies on the border of Puy-de-Dome and Haute Loire. The surroundings offer extensive possibilities for endless walks and cycling trips. In the summer, the picturesque villages have lively flea markets.

The Auvergne is a region with character. Gastronomic cheeses, smoked meats and delicious regional wines. In the vicinity of the holiday home, you can enjoy delicious local and artisanal products. You can also visit various farms in the area for cheese, dairy, meat, vegetables and honey.
At the house of the owner of the gite, there is a vegetable garden. Do not hesitate to take up the hoe, if you feel like it!

Activities
Walking, cycling or just doing nothing at all. Enjoy the overwhelming silence and the clean air. In the evening, a beautiful starry sky unfolds that you can admire from your garden.

Markets
Every Thursday morning in Ambert (45 minutes) and every Saturday morning in Brioude (40 minutes) a real French market takes place. On the market there are more than 200 stalls with among other things organic and regional products.
Festival
At the end of August, the famous music festival of the same name is held in the abbey church of Saint-Robert de la Chaise-Dieu (20 minutes). A festival where history resounds. Enjoy a mix of repertoires played by orchestras from all over the world.
Cross-country skiing and skiing
Also in winter it is beautiful here. You can go cross-country skiing right from your cottage. Would you rather go skiing? At about 1.5 hour drive there are several ski areas.
Swimming and fishing
In the vicinity you will find several lakes where you can take a dive or cast a fishing rod.
Walking and cycling in Puy-de-dome
A little further away, but definitely worth a visit, is the nature reserve Puy-de-Dome (1.5 hours). Puy-de-Dome is a large lava dome and one of the youngest volcanoes in the Auvergne Massif Central. The area invites to beautiful hikes and cycling tours for the whole family. To the top? It can only be reached on foot or by cog railway. This train runs daily every hour and in the high season every half hour.

Further remarks
The holiday home is detached and offers a lot of privacy. The new gite (2016) is located on the owner's property. This architecturally built house has the appearance of a farmhouse with gunwale facades on three sides. The only stone wall, the east facade, is a remnant of the former barn and was the basis for the new construction. Many carefully chosen natural materials were used in the construction.
The distance from Maastricht is 885 kilometres. Via Paris you can drive to La Mesange Charbonniere in about 9 hours. Via the route du soleil via Lyon, the distance is 896 kilometres and you will drive to this beautiful holiday home in approximately 9.30 hours.
Bed, bath and kitchen linen and all washing, dishwashing and cleaning products and hand soap are present in the gite.
Your pet is welcome, for which we ask a fee of 4.00 euro per day.
We appreciate it if your pet does not come in the bedroom.

Wat hebben we genoten van een heerlijke vakantie in jou prachtig huis met een heerlijke tuin.
Ontzettend bedankt voor je gastvrijheid.
Wat al gezegd wordt: om echt tot rust te komen moet je naar Champmort / Sjouk Zuijderwijk.

Wij zijn 4 nachten te gast geweest bij Sjouk in haar prachtige gite. Wat een mooi huis. De entree doet al heel mooi aan met de leuke vloer en de mooie oude deuren. Allemaal prachtige details, zoals bijv. de verlichting in de grote slaapkamer enz. En heel smaakvol ingericht. Fantastische keuken met werkelijk alles wat je nodig hebt om zelf een lekkere maaltijd in te bereiden.
Maar als je daar een keer geen zin in hebt biedt Sjouk de mogelijkheid om bij haar in haar gezellige woonkamer annex keuken aan te schuiven voor een heerlijk maal tegen een redelijke vergoeding.
De omgeving is prachtig, heerlijk om te fietsen (sportieve fiets) en te wandelen.
We hadden graag nog wat langer gebleven, maar komen zeker een keer terug.

Een echte aanrader. Alles sliksplinter nieuw! In dit huis kom je niets te kort, tot in de puntjes is alles netjes verzorgd. Ook de eigenaars zijn supervriendelijke aangename mensen.
En deze buurt geniet je van eeuwige rust in de mooie natuur.ZEKER EENS DOEN! Een Gault Millau of MIchelinster waard, mocht je het zo mogen uitdrukken.
