Le Petit Coup de Combrailles

In a secluded spot, where you can only reach the house via a stone staircase and a short forest path, you will find this very private two-person house with a view of a disused railway bridge.

Downstairs is the living area with a kitchen with a gas hob and a dishwasher, a kitchen table, a sitting area and a shower room with a toilet. Upstairs is the sleeping area and there is space for suitcases, for example. From the window there is a beautiful view of the railway bridge, which is illuminated during the summer months. There is no tv. in the house, but there is a stereo and wifi.

The charming cottage is simple, but lovingly made and decorated, as you can see from the photos, for example, the handmade kitchen, made from locally sawn wood. The upper floor is half open, which makes it feel spacious inside, despite the limited space. And under the blue ceiling painted with a few clouds, the weather is always nice.

Around the house is a small private yard, where you sit very privately with a first-class view of the railway bridge. There is also a barbecue area.

The village of Les Ancizes is a 10-minute drive away and has a supermarket, restaurants, bar, petrol station, bank, tabac/presse, tourist office and other shops. In the surrounding villages there are weekly markets and brocantes are often organised. Some of the sights in the area: The volcanic mountains La Chaine des Puys, Puy de Dôme, Gorges of the river La Sioule (swimming, canoeing, fishing), the meander of Queuille, the crater lake Le Gour de Tarzenat, Clermont Ferrand.

Because the house is only accessible via a short forest path from the road, it is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
