The house
The gite is located on the edge of the small borough of Les Taules, part of Chateauneuf-Val de Bargis, located in the heart of the Nievre.
Lovers of peace and quiet will find what they are looking for here. The area is beautiful and has a rich historical cultural history. Places like Charite sur Loire, Vezelay, Auxerre and Nevers are worth visiting.
About 25 kilometres away is lovely Sancerre with its sovereign position atop a mountain and unique views of the Loire and the surrounding vineyards. These world-renowned wines are available on site. The Loire is a nature reserve with no shipping and you can bathe, health or canoe in the wide shallow river.
The gite is romantic and tastefully decorated with a kitchenette, a private renovated bathroom with walk-in shower and a wide double bed. There is electric heating for cooler periods. There is no Wi-Fi but internet is readily available via the mobile network to keep in touch with home or plan trips. The property has been inspected by the fire brigade.

The Gite is located on the edge of a small borough, a hamlet called Les Taules. It belongs to the municipality of Chateauneuf-Val de Bargis and is 1.5 kilometres from the small centre. Here there is a bakery, small supermarket, post office, pharmacy, hairdresser and a bar tabac with good cuisine. Les Taules has no through traffic and the people are friendly

Restaurants, food & wine
There are some small restaurants in the area at affordable prices and good quality. In the village at the " bar tabac" has good cuisine and pizza is also available daily. For a small price, enjoy a delicious glass of wine from the sancerre area.
In Premery there are several good restaurants, kebab, pizza, Moroccan.
Activities
The surroundings exude tranquillity and have a friendly rolling character. Towards the Loire ( about 25 kilometres) it flattens out, making it very suitable for cycling, mountain biking or hiking. Given its location, it is not suitable for motorhomes.
* The village is on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de la Compostella and is used by walkers.
* On the Loire you can canoe or swim on one of the sandy beaches.
* Behind the house is a large "Plan d'eau" where you can fish with a day licence.
* During the summer months, a small swimming pool is set up for refreshment.

A special feature of the site is that you can forget all worries by being creative with French limestone, clay or other materials. It is suitable as a first introduction but also for advanced students.
The owner is an academy-trained visual artist and makes limestone sculptures, among other things. You can work inside the studio or outside in the sun.
