The house
The gite is realised in the rear part of a beautifully restored bicentenary farmhouse, has its own entrance with terrace in the morning sun and many authentic features. The flat is built in mezzanine style. Downstairs there is a large living room of over 40 m2 with playful windows overlooking the black and white coloured sheep bred by the owner. Adjacent in separate room are a kitchen and bathroom. A staircase in the living room leads to the sleeping area with 4 beds. ( 1 double and 2 single beds) The three-seater sofa in the living room can also be used as a sofa bed for 2 people. There is a wood-burning stove that can provide a cosy atmosphere on chilly evenings. It is possible to reserve a separate bedroom in the house for grandparents or friends who may wish to visit.
The cosy cottage offers the opportunity to enjoy a holiday in beautiful hilly country with great views and picturesque hamlets.
The car can be parked on the forecourt and part of the garden is at the disposal of the residents of the gite.

The "Maubranche" house is located on 3.5 hectares of land, divided into 3 plots separated by long hedges and oak trees. Here, the horse Tsarina walks among a flock of sheep, while the donkeys Nelis and Josefien run in a separate meadow.
3 labradors and 1 Jack Russel properly guard everyone's possessions. A flock of chickens provides fresh eggs and several cats keep the mice stocked.
Sitting on a bench watching the sun set, you can sometimes feel like you are in paradise for a moment.
Maubranche is on the main road D38 between Premery and St Saulge, 10 and 7 km away respectively. In St Saulge you can get the necessary provisions in a supermarket and at the bakery. There are the necessary eateries not too far away.

Leuke omgebouwde stal. Mooi zwemmeer op een paar km. Veel gedaan en bekeken in de omgeving. Velorail in de Morvan is een aanrader.
We voelden ons er erg welkom.

Bijzonder prettige gite om te verblijven. Alles er op en eraan. De ruimte om het huis is heerlijk. Eveneens genieten van de dieren op het terrein maar ook de gelegenheid om je eigen plek af te schermen.

De gite van Maubranche was een fijne en gezellige plek tijdens onze vakantie. De gastvrijheid en gezelligheid van Koos en Nol geweldig. Wij voelde ons als gezin erg welkom en hebben genoten van de gite en de mooie omgeving.
Restaurants, food & wine
Nièvre is part of Burgundy and so there are the necessary routes past famous wine castles and caves. And not too far from the Loire with its famous wines like Sancerre and Pouilly fumé
Activities
If you do not want to laze around on your own terrace, you can discover all sorts of things in the surrounding area. 5 km away is an excellent swimming lake ( etang de Merle) where you can enjoy a free picnic on the water's edge or a day in and on the water.
For mountain bike lovers, there are a number of tours, all starting in St Saulge. (550 km of marked trails).
In many places you can go horseback riding through the hills, white-water canoeing, sailing, surfing, climbing, cycling and hiking.
The hills and forests offer plenty of opportunities and the nearby Morvan is definitely worth a visit.
In many towns in the area, you can go on a search for Romanesque churches, monasteries or castles. Cities such as Vezelay with its impressive Basilica de la Madeleine, Nevers, la Charité sur Loire and Avalon are not to be missed.
A special attraction are the Brocantes, which are held every weekend in a different village. A great opportunity to look for a separate souvenir.
