The house
Les Rossignols is fully renovated with all modern comforts while still keeping traditional features of exposed beams and fireplace with log burner.The large private garden is fully fenced with an above ground pool [5.5m diameter]. There are sunbeds, deck chairs and bbq as well as a terrace for outdoor dining. The swing seat is ideal for relaxing in the peace and quiet.
The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. The open plan lounge has plenty of comfortable seating with satellite TV. 3 light and airy bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with singles. A travel cot, cot bed and high chair are available if required. The bathroom has a large pool bath and shower, plus there is an additional shower room down stairs.

Named after the Nightingales which sing throughout the Spring, Les Rossignols is located in a tranquil valley in a tiny hamlet of 4 houses. We are 3km from the small market town of Chateaumeillant in the heart of the historic Berry region of France, now part of the Centre Val de Loire region.
It is an area of lush rolling countryside, rich farmland, woods and vineyards with attractive villages and towns to discover.

Aangenaam verblijf gehad in dit compleet vakantiehuis. Zeer leuk huis waar echt alles naar wens was, zeer toffe tuin waar onze hond vrij kon rondlopen. Leuke attentie bij aankomst werd ook heel erg geapprecieerd.

Wij hebben een heerlijk verblijf in dit prachtige huis gehad. Sarah en Steve waren goede/lieve hosts. De tuin was prachtig, met veel vlinders en de hond kon nergens ontsnappen.
Chateameillant is een rustig oord, ideaal voor fiets- en wandel vakantie. Erg rustig.

Een heel leuk, gezellig en volledig ingericht huis in een rustige omgeving.
Voor de hondjes een heerlijke omheinde, ruime tuin en voor ons overal fijne zitjes en een super zwembad. Heerlijke druiven groeien er, maar ook tomaten en courgettes.
De eigenaren zijn 2 schatten van mensen.

There are several restaurants and a bar in Chateameillant, 3km away. You can stock up on local produce at the regular market and try the local Chateaumeillant wine direct from the producers.
Activities
Situated on the Saint-Jacques de Compostelle long distance trail and with many way marked paths near by, the area round the gite is ideal for walking or cycling. For water sports a visit to the lake at Sidialles is a must. There are canoes and boats to hire, a sandy beach with safe swimming plus an enormous high ropes course with zip wires across the lake for the adventurous. There are also historic chateaux, medieval churches and beautiful gardens to visit. In the summer there are brocantes nearby every weekend as well as the local markets. Explore Chateaumeillant's vinyayds or go on an organised wine tasting day.
Horse riding, fishing and golf are also available near by.

Further remarks
The large fully fenced and enclosed private garden is ideal for both children and pets. The thick hedges are up to 2m high and reinforced with wire stock netting, the other solid fences are a minimum of 1.5m high, making it a safe place for your pets. The miles of off-road waymarked tracks are great for hiking or cycling- there is a folder of maps in the house.
