The house
Le cerf is our largest gite and we have named it after the deer that you sometimes find in the garden in the morning when you open the shutters of your bedroom. This flat is entirely on the ground floor and has a total living space of 80m2 and has a living room, kitchen and two adjoining bedrooms. Through the living room with authentic fireplace you walk through to the kitchen, which also offers access to the bathroom with shower and is equipped with a separate toilet. The spacious bedroom is equipped with a wonderful box spring (160×200). The bedroom offers a unique view of the valley and the second bedroom at the back has a view of the garden with our oak trees that are 350 years old. The second bedroom has a loft bed with space for 1 person on top and for 2 persons underneath (90×200 & 140×200).
All our gites are equipped with bed linen and towels. An intermediate change of towels is always possible.
On request we can place a cot for the very small ones.
Smoking is not allowed in the gites and dogs are not welcome either.

On a hill in the Loire-Anjou-Touraine National Park, you will find Domaine de la Boissière. This wonderfully quiet domain lies just outside the village Marigny-Marmande. The domain has its origins already in the 16th century and has seen much of the history of the Loire region and France.
Our domain has many views and unique places to discover, it still has a real well and an authentic entrance gate. The domain is more than 2 hectares and runs into the forest of La Boissière.
The beautiful garden contains many different types of plants and trees, and a vegetable garden with various types of fruit trees and nut trees. In the garden there are three beautiful large oak trees that are up to 350 years old, in which we regularly get squirrels and a large variety of birds, such as the nightingale, to visit. It is also possible that early in the morning you will find a family of deer in the garden.
Domaine de la Boissière is the highest point of Marigny-Marmande. So you have breathtaking views of the valley at several places. Take a nice walk through the forest of La Boissière or have a picnic at the water source of La Boissière.
For the children there is a lovely swimming pool and a large garden where they can play football, archery, swing and more. They have a large lawn and a piece of wood at their disposal where they can have great adventures and build huts to their heart's content.
In the large forest next to the domain, you can go for a walk and spot wild animals like deer, badgers, foxes and wild boars.

Wij hebben hier een week verbleven gedurende een hittegolf periode waarbij de temperaturen dagelijks ver boven de 30 graden uitkwamen. Er was weliswaar geen airco in het huisje aanwezig maar binnen was het aangenaam en niet plakkerig warm. Daarnaast is er ook een lekker zwembad aanwezig waarvan veelvuldig gebruik is gemaakt die week. Het huisje is ruim en heeft voldoende slaapplekken voor 4 personen. Wij waren met ons tweetjes en hadden dus voldoende ruimte. Wat wel vreemd is is dat de 2 slaapkamers naast elkaar gelegen zijn en als je gebruik wilt maken van de WC of douche moet je naar de keuken door de huiskamer heen en als je in het stapelbed slaapt ook nog door de slaapkamer met het 2 persoonsbed. De keuken is heel ruim en voorzien van een gasstel en vaatwasser. Het domein ligt heerlijk afgelegen op een heuvel met een fantastisch uitzicht over de vallei. Je kan heerlijk op de ligbedden plaatsnemen en onder het genot van een drankje de avond tegemoet zien genietend van het uitzicht. De mogelijkheid tot het nuttigen van een ontbijt klaargemaakt door de gastvrouw en gastheer de dag na aankomst is een welkome optie waar wij gebruik van hebben gemaakt. Het ontbijt is heerlijk met vers brood van de plaatselijke boulangier en geeft je de rust om later boodschappen te gaan doen. Ik kan dit zeker aanraden. Naast de vriendelijke gastvrouw en gastheer is Duc de hond degene die je het meeste zult zien op het terrein. Hij is altijd enthousiast en komt je begroeten zodra hij kan. Hij loopt zelfs een rondje met je mee als je gaat wandelen. De zonsopgang in de ochtend is het zeker waard om het huisje even te verlaten en deze te gaan bewonderen. Als je geluk hebt kun je deze wellicht vanuit je bed zien maar dat ligt aan de periode van je verblijf. Vanuit het huisje ben je over het algemeen binnen een uur bij een bezienswaardigheid in het Loiredal. Je hebt echter wel een auto nodig want anders gaat het allemaal wat lastiger worden om ergens te komen. Maar je kan ook in de naaste omgeving gaan wandelen. Wij hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad bij Ellis en Victor en kunnen deze Gite zeker aanraden.
Restaurants, food & wine
Our village is known for its truffles, so there are many truffle farmers in our municipality and a special truffle market is held several times a year. Our children's school is appropriately called "The Black Diamond".
You might not expect it, but you will also find many asparagus producers in our area. And of course the famous goat's cheese of Saint Maure de Tourraine is just a stone's throw away from our beautiful spot.
A visit to a vineyard is also worthwhile. From is domain there are several wine routes to make. Ask us and we will help you map out a nice route.
Would you like to eat out; there are plenty of options in the area and we are happy to advise you here as well. Because there is something for everyone. If necessary, we will be happy to reserve a table for you.
Activities
We are located in the national park of Loire-Anjou-Touraine, in the country of Richelieu. This region is named after Armand Jean du Plessis, Cardinal of Richelieu. Known to many from the book The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. A visit to the city of Richelieu is highly recommended with its unique architecture and is situated at a beautiful park, which used to be the domain of the cardinal.
From our domain you can walk straight into the forest of La Boissière or go on a discovery tour of the Loire with all its beautiful castles, villages and nice markets. There is plenty to do in the area for young and old. There is something for everyone, so we will gladly give you tailored advice.

Further remarks
Enjoy. On arrival, a welcome drink will be waiting for you. It is also possible to join us for a delicious dinner. You can also choose to enjoy breakfast the next morning, so there is no stress of having to go shopping right on arrival.
During the week, it is also possible to dine with us in the evening, usually on Wednesdays and Fridays. All this is optional and can be arranged with us upon arrival.
The gîtes are fully equipped with their own kitchen, so you can also enjoy cooking yourself.
Of course, upon arrival, the beds are made and there are clean towels and kitchen towels in the gite.

On request we can provide a cot for the very youngest.
