The house
In the heart of France, 750 km from Utrecht, you will find our house that we would like to share with you, Domaine Savoir Vivre. A fine place in the countryside (a la campagne) of France. We have two 2-person cottages and a 4-person cottage. In addition, a lovely swimming pool with sun beds to cool down in the hot summer. We have a spacious garden with several seating areas. Sit or eat wherever you want! Especially the sunset is fascinating every evening. The cottages are equipped with a box spring bed of 2.00 by 1.60, (Le Garage is 4 persons and has a sofa bed) bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. Kitchen with 2 burner hob, small fridge with freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and kettle. Of course all pans, plates and cutlery are in the kitchen. Also a table with dining chairs and 2 armchairs are not lacking in the living room. In front of your cottage, under the roof, there is a luxurious lounge set. Bath, bed and kitchen linen is included.
In the vicinity you will find charming villages such as St Sévère sur Indre, La Châtre, Montluçon and Boussac. Also at 45 minutes drive one of the most beautiful villages in France, Gargilesse-Dampierre. Definitely worth a visit! The surroundings are rural and hilly, Limousin cows in the meadow. We could tell you all about it but we'll be happy to tell you at our domaine or go exploring by yourself, walking or by car, the map of the area is in your cottage. We still do this every time we are there. If you like water sports, 20 minutes away is Pouligny Notre Dame, a water sports lake where you can swim and water ski. A little further is Crozant, in the valley of the painters. Also Lac d'Eguzon to rent pedal boats and whisper boats. Here are also pleasant terraces by the water. A little closer to home, the recreational lake of Sidiailles, where you can also rent pedal boats and have a nice walk or swim. Between the trees and across the lake, there is an outdoor activity, a tree-climbing course with zip lines. Finally, La Toulx St Croix and Les Pierres Jaumâtres should not be missing from your agenda. Beautiful spots with stunning views.

Domaine Savoir Vivre is situated on a hill. You can only see that when you stand in our garden and see the land going down on the west side. Beautiful wide views with fascinating sunsets. You have a spacious garden at your disposal, as well as an orchard to read your book in the shade, have good conversations, enjoy your wine and the peace or just to dream away. Boussac is 20 minutes away by car. There you can do your shopping and have a drink on a terrace. A little further is La Toulx St Croix, a beautiful watchtower. Nearby Les Pierres Jaumâtres, the dolmens of France. The lake of Sidiailles for swimming and renting a pedalo. You can also walk there and there is a zip wire over the lake. Montlucon, a larger town with half-timbered houses. To the west lies one of the 100 most beautiful French villages, Gargilesse Dampierre. The route to it is beautiful. Along the Lac d'Eguzon where you can also rent pedal boats and swim. In your cottage we have a detailed map of the area and you can use it during your stay. And, do you have questions? Lieve Nans en Peter, onze vrienden hebben niets teveel gezegd! Wat een fantastische plek, rust en gezelligheid wat voor ons op dit moment heel belangrijk was. We komen zeker een keer terug, want wat een mooie stek. Ik hou direct van Nans, nooit binnen de lijntjes schrijven, daarbuiten mag ook. Tot gauw, dan wel niet hier, dan daar!

Lieve Peter en Nancy, de onverwachte plekjes zijn de mooiste...en daar is jullie Domaine zeker een voorbeeld van. Het was voor ons een voorrecht om bij jullie te mogen logeren voor een weekje (way to short!) Wij hebben de rust gekregen die wij zochten, genoten van de prachtige omgeving, gezellig gepraat met jullie en de andere gasten, heerlijk getafeld. Kortom, ons volgende vakantieadres zal serieus uit de hoek moeten komen om dit te evenaren. Nans, heel veel respect en bewondering voor jou hoe jij dit hier op dit moment alleen moet redden! De mooie afwerking met kleine fijne dingen maken het plaatje compleet. En dat zijn jullie samen ook als koppel...mooi om te zien! Dank jullie wel om zo lief te zijn voor hondje Lex, die heeft de tijd van zijn leven gehad, zijn franse droom geleefd, dankzij Lily. Wij zeggen geen 'adieu' maar 'au revoir'!

Our domaine is just below Chateaumeillant, which is a 20-minute drive from us. That is where the first vineyards begin and where the first wineries in our region are located. The wine of Sancerre is a culinary masterpiece. In Boussac, Ste Sévère sur Indre, La Châtre and at Les Pierres Jaumâtres you will find delicious restaurants. Often, the tastiest restaurants are those located just outside the city centre. And if you don't want to eat out, you can cook in your gîte or join our table d'hôte twice a week.
