The house
This cosy holiday home is located in the quiet, typical French farming village of 'Autreville Saint Lambert'; situated just beyond the French border in the Champagne-Ardennes region.
You stay here in a cosy, comfortable holiday home with an attractive interior full of charming details, part of a renovated farm with 2 other gites. The gite 'numéro 15' has its own entrance and a large, enclosed private garden overlooking the fields.
Layout:
Downstairs you will find a cosy open kitchen equipped with all comforts (cooker with 4 burners and oven, fridge, dishwasher, nespresso machine, small freezer in the storage room) and a comfortable sitting room with fireplace.
There is WIFI available and a smart TV with Netflix (no TV channels).
Upstairs you will find two spacious bedrooms, a corridor and a nice bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower. The high-quality box-spring beds come with down duvets.
In bedroom 1 you will find a double bed.
In bedroom 2 you will find two single beds.
A baby cot is also available.
Kitchen linen and (bath) towels are provided.
Bed linen can be provided if required.
Books and board games are available in the house.
There is heating throughout the house and a cosy wood-burning stove in the living room.
At the rear, there is a private enclosed garden and terrace with garden furniture and barbecue.
The terrace overlooks the fields. Children can play safely here.
You can park your car on the lawn in front of the house.

Autreville is surrounded by meadows and forests, ideal for wonderful, endless walks and bicycle rides. You are bound to meet a deer, fox, wild boar or one of the many birds of prey. Just a few minutes from the house, 'La Meuse' flows, where you can go swimming, picnicking or fishing in a beautiful green environment.
In the vicinity you will find several beautiful villages where weekly markets and folk brocantes take place. There are also numerous castle and abbey routes.
You will find several restaurants and supermarkets in the area, for example in Stenay and Mouzon. Discover this blissfully unspoilt part of France, close to Belgium and the Netherlands.

Een weekje onthaasten, uitrusten, er op uit trekken: het kan hier allemaal. We hebben er enorm van genoten en hadden daarbij ook beter weer dan we hadden kunnen denken. De tuin is dan ook een heerlijke plek om te zijn en voor de kinderen om uit te razen.
Het huisje is perfect, alles wat je nodig hebt is er en door de inrichting voel je je er meteen thuis. Het is zelfs groter dan we hadden verwacht :-)
De plaatsen in de omgeving zijn zeker een bezoek waard. We bevelen de gite van harte aan!

Op oudejaars dag 2022 vertrokken naar huisje numero 15. We verblijven hier t/m 7 januari. Het huisje en de omgeving zijn helemaal top.
Eenmaal de deur geopend te hebben branden de kerstlampjes al in het huisje en staat er een flesje bubbels klaar voor oude jaars avond. Stephan en Inge hebben oog voor detail, er ontbreekt echt helemaal niets. De keuken is goed ingericht, de badkamer is keurig en de slaapkamers zijn lekker ruim.
In de omgeving is het heerlijk rustig. Op 15 minuten rijden is er een supermarkt en in het dorp verderop zijn twee ambachtelijke bakkers.
We hebben echt genoten deze week. Het dorpje is heerlijk rustig. Er is een leuke tuin met uitzicht. Dit is vakantie!
We komen graag nog eens terug naar dit leuke adres. We hebben genoten!!!

Pouilly: possibility of fishing, picnicking, swimming... at/in the Meuse
Mouzon: twelfth-century town situated on the Meuse and well worth a visit. Apart from a city wall and a gothic church, there is a felt museum. You will also find tennis courts and a heated outdoor swimming pool.
Douzy: lake with various swimming and water sports facilities, indoor-karting and bowling.
Stenay: beer museum, marina for pleasure boats, tourist office, restaurants, market on Friday mornings.
Florenville: tourist town just across the border in Belgium, every last Sunday of the month (except December, January, February and July) there is a big flea and brocant market.
Montmedy: fortified town with beautiful citadel.
Sedan: pleasant market every Wednesday and Saturday morning. You can visit Sedan Castle, one of the largest castles in Europe. A large-scale medieval festival takes place here every year in May.
Verdun: The Battle of Verdun during World War I cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of soldiers. The Ossuarium of Douaumont near the city is an impressive memorial centre. You can also visit the forts of Douaumont and Vaux, destroyed villages and the impressive American military cemetery in Romagne-sous-Montfaucon (52ha).

Avioth: Gothic basilica.
Charleville-Mézières: Car-free shopping town, beautiful 'Place Ducale', Ardennes Museum, Vieux Moulin with Arthur Rimbaud's museum, the marionette clock (every hour between 10 and 21 hrs, an excerpt from the legend of the 'Four Heemskinderen' is played).
Reims/Epernay: An hour's drive from Autréville puts you in the cradle of Champagne. Enjoy delicious bubbles and visit the impressive Reims cathedral.
Luxembourg: An hour's drive from Autréville. Visit the MUDAM and/or 'shop till you drop' in the city centre.
Metz: About an hour and a half away - visit the Centre Pompidou and enjoy the cosy city.
