The house
This cottage is located in the former goat stable of the house next door. We did the restoration ourselves, with respect for the materials used in the region, with respect for the environment by insulating very thoroughly, and by heating with wood.
You enter on the ground floor where you will find a large entrance hall and toilet. There is room for bikes, luggage etc..
On the first floor is the living room with open kitchen and lounge. If you open the front door, you will find a private terrace with garden furniture and a table. If you go up the outside stairs you will enter the garden, if you go up another flight of stairs you will enter the herb garden, which you may use of course. You will notice that stairs are inevitable, but the house is on a slope which gives a beautiful view, and especially a lot of sun. If you go back to the living room, you can climb the stairs to the upper floor with the round window, the double bed, the bathroom with shower and toilet.

Wij hebben met veel plezier genoten van ons verblijf in "La Petite Grange" . De eigenaren Johan en Veronique waren zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Onze bewondering ging uit naar alles wat Johan van natuursteen heeft gemaakt, zelfs liet hij zich ontvallen dat-ie a.s. zomer een cursus steenkappen overwoog ,zodat iedereen zich de primaire beginselen v/h steenkappen eigen kan maken (ik hoop dat het doorgaat)
Ons verblijf had het doel ons 30 jarig samenzijn te vieren met van mijn kant een verassing's
diner. Ik had twee damast tafellakens, kaarsen en een vuurkorf meegenomen om de sfeer te vergroten op een van de buiten terrassen achter het huis gelegen. M'n blanquette de Veau incl.warm stokbrood en een salade met vers geplukte dragon en een warme vinaigrette werden positief ontvangen. Tot mijn grote vreugde vond ik bij de locale hypermarche in Stenay een witte Bourgogne om e.e.a. weg te spoelen ! Een feest dus , de gite is een aanrader (heb damast achtergelaten) ook enkele foto's naar Johan verzonden in de hoop dat -ie deze zal plaatsen .Comment from johan Geerts

Activities
When people come to our region, they come for the peace, quiet, to relax and away from mass tourism.
It is a paradise for hikers, game and bird spotters, cyclists and mountain bikers.
There is also the village of old crafts and there is at 50 km the battlefields of WWI to visit in and around Verdun (if you want to see everything you need a week). There are the small villages, where time stands still for 100 years. The abbey of Orval, with its beer of the same name, is 15 km away and the ruins are certainly worth a visit.
But above all, what is really there, is the silence, worth an experience.
