The house
The former woodshed has a surprisingly nice interior!
The gîte is intimate and the garden is adjacent to the Loison! The gîte is characterised by the warmth of the natural materials that have been used: the local oak from the forest of Louppy and the French natural stone. Earth tones, wooden beams, walls of moellon (the local limestone), the floor of hard stone, an impressive fireplace, the hard stone sink with large basin.
The house radiates warmth and cosiness. In the off-season, the house is heated with a wood-burning stove. A special warmth that heats the whole house and fits in with the customs of the locals. In the Meuse, the wood-burning stove is still the most widely used heating method...and...CO2-neutral!
Downstairs is a living room with alcove and upstairs the bathroom and the bedroom.
Outside a private terrace and 100m2 garden adjacent to the Loison.
Cot and high chair on request. And the dog is welcome!

Reviews
petit gîte Louppy has received 6 reviews over the past 4 years with an average of:
Liane en Frans from Maastricht,
E.N. Faber from Groningen,
Fijne vakantie gehad in de karakteristieke gîte. Mooie omgeving, veel te zien en te doen. Alles aanwezig in de gîte wat je nodig hebt.
Joachim & Susanne Schenk from Ennepetal,
Uns hat es gut gefallen, es ist klein und urig eingerichtet, wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und unser Hund auch.
Restaurants, food & wine
Locally, there are many restaurants, mostly offering local cuisine, some of them at very reasonable prices.
Nice to visit are the Abbey of Orval, with its delicious Trappist beer, and a little closer is the Castle of Charmois, where the local highly appreciated beer is brewed.

Hiking, mountain biking, forest walks, visits to Verdun and its war history, Montmedy and its citadel, Marville the Renaissance village, and further on the Champagne region.

Further remarks
We live nearby and are happy to advise you on choosing activities. The most beautiful picnic spot on the côte St Germain, what is so special about the Marville cemetery. When the fireflies can be seen....
