The house
Magnificent grand monumental property equipped with many antique details for a great and unique stay! The property, from 1617, was built for the King's Lieutenant of the time and features a tower, a triple vaulted cellar and a park-like garden with lots of privacy. There are also three bedrooms, a dining room, a living room, a large kitchen and two bathrooms at your disposal. The house is equipped with many conveniences and is set up for a good stay in both good and bad weather. There are three bedrooms for a total of up to 5 or 6 guests. One room is furnished with twin beds, the other two with double beds. One of the bedrooms opens onto a bathroom, the other bathroom can be accessed separately from the bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare a sumptuous meal. Of course, there is a washing machine and dishwasher. Outside, you can BBQ and take a seat at a large and comfortable garden set. A television with large DVD collection is at your disposal, but no cable TV. Wifi internet not available. A Wifi router where you can insert your own 4G card can be made available on request.
The village on the Meuse has all amenities at hand, such as restaurants, a large supermarket at 3 car minutes and the bakery and butcher at walking distance. Minimum rental is 5 days. In high season 7 days. Would you like to book different days? Please contact us to discuss the possibilities. The changeover day can be scheduled on any day that is still free. On that day, the house is available from 16:00, and you have until 09:00 to end the holiday.
Last-minute bookings should be made at least 4 days in advance, and you should discuss the possibility of having the house ready at short notice.

The house is located on the outskirts of the village Stenay where most amenities are within walking distance. Think of bakers, butchers and a small supermarket. Larger facilities / supermarkets at 3 minutes by car. The house is situated at the end of a one-way street opposite a historical estate and is part of an ancient citadel of which the remains are still visible. At the front the property looks like a large villa - at the back there is the tower and the garden, enclosed by walls and overlooking a beautifully renovated historic building which now serves as a beer museum.

The surroundings are characterised by peace and nature in a picturesque landscape. Stenay is situated on the edge of the Argonne where beautiful walks and cycling trips can be made. An outdoor natural pool is 20 mins away, as well as a go-kart track, bowling alley, swimming pond, 1st world war museums, canoeing in season, climbing park at 30 mins.
