The Manoir and the buildings in which the Gites are situated were built in 1742 by the wealthy notary family 'Voilette'.
Given the fact that there are 2 pigeonieres on the property and the Manoir is close to the church, we can assume that the Violette family was an aristocratic family.
The Gite and the Manoir are situated in/on the edge of a beautiful, picturesque hilly village (400 inhabitants) in the middle of les sept vallees.
From the house and the gites on the hill you have a beautiful view on the village and its Romanesque church which is a protected monument.

Wij hebben een geweldige week gehad in La Petite Maison (12-19 augustus 2023).
We werden gastvrij ontvangen door Josephine. De gîte is van alle gemakken voorzien en ligt op een mooie, rustige plek in Fressin. Wij hebben veel van de omgeving gezien, heerlijk gegeten, veel gelezen en de TV niet gemist. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Genoten van een heerlijke week in la petite maison. Gastvrije ontvangst, prachtige omgeving, veel gezien en gedaan. Op amper 4 uur rijden van Nederland is deze streek, le pays des 7 Vallées een aanrader!

Weer thuis en hierbij een dikke 10 prima week gehad in een heerlijk huisje mooie plek en ondanks het najaar ons kunnen uitleven en vooral lekker kunnen uitrusten en genieten.JOSEPHINE dikke pluim en we komen zeker terug .

Restaurants, food & wine
In the village you will find a very good wine merchant where you could possibly buy some bottles to take back to the Netherlands.
Furthermore, there are several excellent restaurants in the vicinity.
Activities
We are 5 minutes away from a protected forest where it is lovely to stay.
You can go there by bike or mountain bike or just take a nice walk (if you like, you can pick up a picnic basket filled with all kinds of delicacies).
Of course, in addition to the smell of the pines, you can also soak up a lot of culture.
What about a visit to a museum in Arras or Amiens, a visit to the cathedral in Amiens which is on the Unesco world heritage list, experiencing at first hand what it is like to stand in a trench from WW1, visiting a mountain cave dug out by man in the 10th century?
The beach is a 40-minute drive away, so on a hot day you can get a tan there!
There are two small rivers through the village where you can go fishing.

If you own a horse, you can take it with you on holiday!
We have 1.2 hectares of pasture where you can put your horse for a small extra charge (max 2 horses per week).
You can choose to put your horse with our three social horses or separately.
We also offer horse rides and horse and carriage rides (pulled by real Boullonais draft horses) where you can see all the monuments in and around the village with a guide.
