The house
This farm workers' cottage has kept its authentic details and the comforts of our time have been brought in. There are 3 bedrooms with 6 beds. The garden with its own patch of woodland is an oasis of calm. If at all possible, you will be outside here.

Saint Maulvis is a smoke-free holiday home with plenty of space outside.
All rooms have new radiators and smoke detectors.
There is also a wood-burning stove in the sitting room.
The house is suitable for young children: cot, games.
Washing machine, ironing board and iron are available.
Depending on the season: herbs such as parsley, mint and chives or fruits such as cider apples or cherries found in the garden can be used.

Saint Maulvis, with its monumental Crusader Tower, is located in a rural & hilly landscape. Alternating fields, meadows and forests with impressive views and the imposing coastal chalk cliffs.
Saint Maulvis is a good base for exploring the Vimeu, an area of immense history and beautiful gardens. To the west, the Picardie borders the North Sea. Walking here is wonderful. For experienced walkers or a breezy triple. The Bay of Somme is a unique nature reserve. For other activities such as mountain biking, you only have to open the gate and you're off! The region around Saint Maulvis is home to several castles. Kings had their hunting grounds in Picardy.
Lovely horse riding over the hills and between the fields. The sea is 30 minutes away. In the same time, you can also be on the golf course or float for sailing lessons on one of the lakes in the Bresle valley or ........ Just stay at home in the country garden!

The university town of Amiens welcomes you to its lovely restaurants overlooking the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, which rightly deserves its place on the Unesco World Heritage list.
In surrounding villages, you will find restaurants with many regional products on their menus.
Activities
Near Saint Maulvis are 2 beautiful hiking trails ('chemins de randonnée'). The route maps are at your disposal.
5 minutes' drive from Saint Maulvis is a riding school for horse or carriage rides. Small children can also be taken out on ponies on a leash. If required, we will arrange the reservation.
Don't miss 'Château de Rambures' ! A completely intact fortress from the 14th and 15th centuries. Henri IV stayed here several times. In 10 minutes away from home, you dive back in time 500 years !
The picturesque coastal town of Le Tréport is 30 minutes away. The town lies at the foot of the imposing chalk cliffs that rise up to 90 metres above the sea. Moules-frites' lovers can indulge themselves here after a refreshing swim.
Less than an hour away is Valloires Abbey. The abbey can be visited and has a large separately accessible garden where your senses are sure to be stimulated. The abbey hosts an annual music festival. Here you can admire the 'Roses of Picardie' in all their splendour, depending on the season.
Tip: Don't forget your boots, sports and hiking shoes.

Prachtige regio. Uitstekende gite. Prima ontvangst. Meer mogelijkheden dan dagen dus wellicht terugkomen? De hond heeft het hier ook naar zijn zin. Prima pad om het dorp waar hij lekker los kan lopen. Zo dicht bij Nederland en toch helemaal Frans. Wat kun je ook hier, heerlijk eten voor weinig. Maar het kan ook luxe. Vandaag bij Matelote in Boulogne gegeten. 1 ster en volkomen verdiend. Reken wel op hogere prijzen voor wijn en aperitief. Maar ook zij moeten ergens van leven. het vaderdagkado is binnen. Een van de bedienden leek sprekend op George Clooney. Maar hier liep alles gladjes.

Een fijne week doorgebracht in dit rustig gelegen, eenvoudige huisje op het platteland van Picardie. Alles is aanwezig, de tuin is groot en spannend, het dorp ademt stilte en rust. Veel mogelijkheden voor leuke uitstapjes, naar de Somme, naar de zee, naar Amiens en Abbeville, enz.
