Restaurants, food & wine
The nearest town with all amenities including a number of supermarkets, bakery, bars, gas station, restaurants and antiquities is Sourdeval which is located just 6km from the property. There are many villages and towns in the region that are well worth a visit but here are a few of our favourites - Cherence (3km) - is a small village with brocantes, a bar and a pizza place. Mortain is located 11km away which is known for its French Renaissance architecture and home to the Grand and Petit Cascades (waterfalls). Vire (19km) - An ancient walled city built in the 12th century, with castle and small museum. Its well worth climbing the turret to see the surrounding views. Saint - Hilaire du Harcouet (21km) - is a bustling market town (markets on Wednesday's) which dates back to 1083. Villedieu les Poeles - (30km) is known as the city of copper and is a beautiful preserved medieval town. Avranches (33km) with cobbled lanes, gardens and picturesque squares is also home to the manuscripts from Mont Saint-Michel. Le Mont Saint Michel (48km) is a must visit for the region with access depending on tide times. Here you will find a small island steeped in history.
