Surroundings
Set in the heart of the Normandy hedgerow country, we are located in a part of Normandy that was liberated by the American troops who landed on D-Day. La Chapelle Uree is situated between the triangle of Brecey, Avranches and St Hilaire du Harcouet and close to Mortain - site of the engagement in August 1944 which brought the battle of Normandy to a close. The property has all the rural qualities you could hope for whilst still only being 30 minutes from the coast. La Petite Grange is close to local amenities, small towns and great places of interest. Le Mont St Michel and the beautiful west coast beaches are but half an hour away, with Bayeux a little further to the North East. This central location in the heart of Normandy means you can enjoy it all from a very comfortable base.

Restaurants, food & wine
Staying local to the area you will find an abundance of good cafes and restaurants in all the surrounding towns, to fully experience the fine cuisine of France. At Avranches half an hour away near the coast, you will find exquisite fish restaurants, or a particularly lovely place is Cancale 45 mins away where you will sample all varieties of seafood in a beautiful setting. Granville is also another town where you will find restaurants a plenty.
Activities
La Petite Grange is ideally suited for many activities..... Numerous historical sites, including Le Mont St Michel, Bayeux, and Mortain (where the Battle of Normandy came to a close), breathtaking west coast beaches half an hour away, several golf courses, and riding stables in Brecey 10 minutes away. There are also many lakes where the fisherman can while away the days, as well as numerous walking and cycling paths. Esther from Emmen,
Geweldige week gehad bij Jan en Paul. Ontzetten gastvrij ontvangen.
Vivienne from Voorburg,
A lovely little gite, very tastefully decorated. The hosts Jan and Paul were very welcoming. Everything we needed was in the house, the inventory was more than complete. The location is central for visits to lower Normandy and Brittany.
Judith Broer from Middelburg,
Me and my daughters stayed at this very lovely and cosy little house for a week and we had the best time ever. Everything you need is there, with very much eye for detail. The owners are ever so friendly and helpful, and made us feel really welcome. The surroundings are beautiful so we visited a lot of places like Vitré, Domfront, Saint Malo, Mont Saint Michel etc. Shops are in the vicinity so grocery shopping isn’t a problem whatsoever and there’s a cosy little baker in the village close by. So don’t hesitate and book a stay here!
Comment from Louise Jones
Thank you Judith for your kind and lovely remarks, that means a lot to us. It was a great pleasure to meet your all.
Best wishes
