Our location on the Charente/Dordogne borders of South West France offers our guests all the luxury of a calm rural retreat with easy access to transport links and the range of cultural experiences and leisure activities that make for a truly memorable fun packed holiday!
Our local village, Aubeterre-sur-Dronne is listed as 'one of the most beautiful villages in France'. It boasts a fabulous cultural heritage together with beautiful natural surroundings and the famous French 'art de vivre' ! Aubeterre has been welcoming tourists for over 1,000 years! Visitors enjoy meandering up and down the narrow streets, admiring the specialist shops and settling down in one of the many cafés or restaurants for a drink or bite to eat. The village square 'Place Trarieux' is the perfect spot to stop, comfortably shaded by the old lime trees and overlooked by the ancient chateau.
The extraordinary monolithic, underground Church of St Jean and the Romanesque Church of St Jacques, with its stunning façade, add to the cultural importance of Aubeterre.
At the foot of the village, where magnificent poplar trees and meadows meet the river Dronne, you will find the river beach and beach restaurant. A sandy beach with play area and beach volleyball, plus regularly organised attractions. The popular tennis club has an annual tennis tournament, open to all, plus you can hire kayaks for a few hours paddle or they will drop you off further up stream and you can meander back towards Aubeterre at your own pleasure.
Aubeterre is only a 5 minute drive from Longeveau, or a very pleasant walk or bike ride along quiet roads and woodland tracks. But be warned it is uphill on the way back!

From fresh pastries with your morning coffee to BBQ buffets and dining into the evening, our terrace bar and restaurant are the ideal places to come together to relax and enjoy the estate. With wonderful views over the tennis courts, golf course and open countryside, plus local fresh produce and a changing menu, you’ll find yourself whiling away the hours in rural French style.
During the day, our bar offers a simple selection of light bites to tide you over. We cater for younger family members, with lunch-box style hampers for the little ones and organic baby food for our tiniest guests. A selection of breads and viennoiseries (breakfast pastries) are available to order for collection in the morning.
Our restaurant is usually open on Friday and Saturday evenings during the summer holidays. A choice of freshly prepared, local dishes are available, with seating on our beautiful terrace as the sun-sets over the valley. Let the children play as you enjoy one of our local bottles of wine, long into the summer evenings!
Our weekly BBQs nights are a chance for everyone to really unwind and enjoy laughter and games together in the late evening sun. A selection of meats and salads, with vegetarian options available and wine included. We usually have BBQs on Monday evenings though the summer holidays, more often than not, followed by the ever popular game of 'kids vs grown ups' football, on the flood-lit tennis courts!
Freshly baked pizza, most Thursday evenings, though the summer months. Enjoy on our terrace with friends and a drink, or take-out to enjoy in the comfort of your holiday home or garden!
