The house
Holiday home Confolens one of our 3 Gîtes (Tranquille Vienne Gites ),a cosy house with 3 bedrooms, including a bedroom and shower room on the ground floor and a bedroom with a single bed . There is a living room with a wood burning stove and stairs to 2 more bedrooms and an extra wc and a small garden enclosed for the dog.
There is a shared heated swimming pool on site, trampoline, swings, table tennis and plenty of other toysthe whole garden is fenced so the children are not in danger.
For the peace seekers among us, there are plenty of places in the garden where you can quietly read a book or enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.
Obviously plenty to do in the area, river 6 min (fishing, canoeing), lake with sandy beach 15 min drive, many cycling and walking routes in the area.
Each house is equipped with excellent Wifi, updated this year.

We are not on a main road here, but neither are we in the middle of nowhere!
15 min drive to lake with sandy beach.
Canoeing and kayaking 5 min.
In the grounds you will find a swimming pool, a trampoline, a swing, entire property is enclosed so safe for children.
Exideuil is only 2 km away, and you will find all basic necessities.
We are here on the Charente/Limousin border between Limoges and Angoulême.
All our gites are together in Peyras, a small hamlet in the municipality of Chirac.
Chirac is 2km from us where there is a church and bar/restaurant.
Exideuil is 2km down the hill and has a pharmacy, post office, bakery, shop, bar and a beautiful church. From here you can also kayak on the river Vienne (guided tours available).
Chabanais is 6 km from us, a larger town with the nearest supermarket (Super U), many more shops and bars/restaurants and ATMs.
Confolens is about 15 km from us and is a lovely town to visit. Located on the river Vienne, there are a few good cafés/bars/restaurants.
Saint Junien (Haute Vienne) is a much larger town with many more shops to visit - 20 minutes' drive from us.
Limoges 45 min drive. airport. and a beautiful city well worth a visit.
Angoulême. 1 hour drive also a beautiful city we like this stand even more than Limoges.
Cognac 1 hour drive,and well the name says it all, of course also for wine lovers.
Bordeaux airport 2 hours drive , great to do.
And if you are really bored the coastal town of La Rochelle 2 hours drive.
Extremely suitable for walkers, cyclists and culture seekers, for those who do not feel like going out there are plenty of places in the garden to quietly read a book or enjoy the surroundings.

Excellent accueil. Lex et Monique sont à l’écoute, disponibles et discrets. Gîte très bien équipé et agréable avec petit jardinet privatif.

Beautiful and welcoming! Where we stayed had everything we needed... Cosy and comfortable and
decorated beautifully. We were there looking to buy property and can honestly say we wouldn't have
been able to without the owners help and advice. The service was brilliant and would definitely stay

Activities
There is a swimming pool 9 by 5 metres on top of the ground, which you have to share. On the grounds, you can play tennis. There is also a swing and a slide. You can canoe/kayak on the river, 2 km from us in Exideuil or on one of the lakes. In St Junien, a 20-minute drive away, you can play golf. There are many landscaped beaches by the lakes 10 minutes from us in Etagnac, Roumazieres and Pressignac. There is an adventure park in Massignac.
Located between Limoges and Angouleme - good to visit and compare both cities.
Many artificial beaches by the lakes. within 10 minutes of us in Etagnac, Roumazieres and Pressignac - popular every year with couples and families bringing a picnic (although a snack bar is available) water sports also available.

Monkey Word Zoo in Romane/La vallée des singes is great for the whole family.
Of course do not forget to visit the beautiful city of Limoges known for its porcelaine,many nice shops for the shoppers among us.
The coast with the famous seaside resort of La Rochelle is also worth a visit (2 hour drive).
There is actually too much to mention, book and discover!

Further remarks
On the property are other 2 Gites.
Rochechouart, the other gite, can accommodate 1 to 4 people. There are two bedrooms with twin beds, a kitchen/dining room, living room, bathrooms with shower and a separate toilet.
Excellent Wifi.
Also suitable for larger groups.

Attention !
In the period October to May we do not charge extra heating costs for normal use of the electric heaters, in case of more or abnormal use we charge extra costs , we can see this in the electricity app and settle this with you at the end of your stay.!!!
Wood 5 € per basket.
Tourist tax is € 0,69 per night per adult.
We have towels for you but bring your own swimming towels.
In Gite Confolens you dog is welcome we do charge 25,- extra for this per period.
The Gite is also available for longer rental periods, please contact us.
If you leave the gite as you found it on arrival, the 40, - euro cleaning fee is included. If this is not the case, we will deduct 40, - euro from the deposit unless you have indicated to pay cleaning costs.
We have 3 Gites so also ideal for family reunions, walking or cycling clubs.
