The house
Your detached holiday home 'Farniente Monange', with a private terrace, is a renovated farmhouse with a wood-burning stove and an open-plan kitchen and a bedroom with a double bed. The downstairs bathroom has a raised toilet, a shower and washbasin. Upstairs is a small bedroom with a single bed, a large bedroom with 2x single beds and a room with a sofa bed, (sitting area) with TV/DVD player a play area for children. Baby facilities are available. The beds are Dutch sizes, so nice and big. In the Grange you will find the shared washing machine, a library with books, DVDs, puzzles and games, The grounds of 5000 m2 are located between the meadows and there are many places where you can sit comfortably. The property has fruit trees and is fenced with barbed wire. It lies at the end of a cul-de-sac and on a cycling and walking route. From the grounds you have a beautiful view of the Cantal mountains and over the farmlands. Your dog (pets) will have space to play here. The swimming pool is available in July and August. Here you will find SILENCE, REST and SPACE.

Holiday home 'Farniente Monange' is located in a small hamlet with 10 houses, at the end of a cul-de-sac. In a rural and wooded area. On the grounds, of 5000 m2, there are many places to sit with comfortable garden furniture. You can play on the site with your dog (pets) but also go for walks in the immediate vicinity. A hiking and mountain bike route runs along the property. The beautiful view of the mountains of the Cantal is formidable. In the evening, the outdoor fireplace and you can cozy around the fire. (Only fire if there is no fire risk because of drought) You can also look at the many stars. Because dark here is really dark. A torch is therefore really necessary. There is a swimming pool, 4.80 m in diameter, where you can cool off. (July and August only).
There is at 8 km, a large reservoir, Lac de Triouzoune, of 420 ha with beaches and playgrounds. You can swim, surf, water-ski, jet-ski, fly-board etc. there.
There is also an 18-hole golf course overlooking the lake and the Sancy mountains. It is a high-tech golf course.

Irene heeft Farniente opgebouwd op een pracht-plek: het ligt aan een klein weggetje dat het bos inlioopt, maar ook vergezichten biedt en knuffels met de ezels van de buren. Farniente zelf is zeer charmant en sfeervol door de mooie bloemen, groentetuin met enorme courgette-bloemen (en courgettes!), bomen aan de rand van het terrein en fijne zithoekjes verspreid over het terrein met uitzicht of beschutting. Ook het huis is zeer liefdevol verzorgd met alles erop en eraan, heel comfortabel met o.a. goede bedden.
De omgeving is rijk aan de typisch Franse schoonheid van veel ruimte, prachtige dorpen en steden (mooie stijl van bouwen, met op het onregelmatige oude stenen muurtjes en huizen), heuvels/bergen met meren, rivieren, etc en alles dichtbij en volop keuze... Wij waren nogal weg van de smalle gorges van de Dordogne, en met name de Belvédère op enkele kilometers afstand. Een magische plek, waar we helemaal alleen waren en een enorm uitzicht hadden over de samenkomst van de Dordogne en de Sumène. Met wat klauteren hang je zelfs min of meer in de vallei op hoogte, zitting/liggend op een rots. Ook de stuwdammen in de buurt waren indrukwekkend en erg mooi (ook de meren erachter). Er is teveel om op te noemen hier. We raden een verblijf bij Irene op Farniente zéér aan. Je kan wandelen, fietsen, stadjes en dorpen bezoeken, locale feesten (bv heel leuk diner met muziek op straat..) U zult er heel blij van worden, ook in het voor-en najaar is het hier schitterend en heerlijk, een verademing.Hilma van Arragon from VEENENDAAL,
Farniente Monange is een heerlijke plek om tot rust te komen. Gelegen te midden van prachtige bossen en weidse vergezichten. Irene is een gastvrouw die zorgt dat je je thuis voelt.

een oase van rust en ruimte. geen verkeer heel af en toe een tractor verder alleen natuur. supermarkt in neuvic 10 km restaurantje in serandon 5 km. Bij aankomst voel je je direct thuis door de lieve spontane ontvangst van irene vergezeld van hond en katten. de omgeving leent zich uitstekend voor het maken van grote wandeltochten en mountainbike . we komen hier nu 3 jaar en we zijn nog steeds niet uitgekeken in de omgeving.
Restaurants, food & wine
Several restaurants are available in Neuvic, 8 km away. Several restaurants can also be found along the lake.
There is a weekly market with local produce. Every Friday evening there is a market with local products and a BBQ. You can have your meal there at long tables and of course with music.
In the village of Sérandon, 2 km away, there is a bar with a small shop and the restaurant/bar Chez Lisa is open every day except Sundays. In July and August, it is also open every evening and has a music night every Thursday.
Many activities are organised in the area in summer.

There is also a large reservoir there: Lac de Triouzoune, of 420ha. You can swim, water ski, jet ski, flyboard, surf, sail, canoe and there is a playground there....
At 10 minutes by car, near Neuvic, is a beautiful 18-hole golf course that is technically sophisticated.
Farniente Monange is located among meadows and directly on a hiking and mountain bike trail. You can walk with your dog (pets) in the countryside.
