The house
The house has a large 3000 m2 garden facing south. Right by the kitchen is a large "table" for about 10 people with a large parasol. And there is a covered veranda where it is lovely to linger in the evening, whether or not enjoying the Weber gas barbecue. In summer, life is mainly outside. Outside, the WiFi reception is good.
The garden is fenced with bushes and from the garden you have a beautiful view of a valley. You sit there wonderfully on your own. For children there is a trampoline, a sandpit, a swing and some car tyres on a rope. There is also a large stone oven in the garden for a barbeque or an evening fire. The garden offers enough space to put up a tent for the children.
In the second part of the garden (behind a closed gate) is the heated swimming pool of 10 by 5 metres with a spacious terrace of about 170 m2 and an outdoor shower.
From the back garden you step into the kitchen of 13 m2. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, an electric oven with ceramic plates and a microwave. There are also several coffee machines (including Senseo and Nespresso).
From the kitchen you enter the living room of 25 m2 with a wood stove. In the living room there is a large corner sofa and a dining table for 6 people. Via satellite you can receive Dutch television. There is also a DVD player and a hi-fi CD set.
Upstairs you will find three bedrooms. The "master bedroom" of 13 m2 has a twin bed, the second bedroom has a double bed (1.40 x 2.00 m) and the third bedroom has a bunk bed. All three bedrooms open onto the landing. All beds have mattress protectors, pillows and duvets. Bed linen and towels are included. There are also two folding camp beds available.
From the kitchen you step into the bathroom with toilet and walk-in shower. Next to it is the scullery with the washing machine. Above is the fourth bedroom (18 m2) with its own entrance through the scullery. Also here is a queen-size bed (1.40 x 2.00 m).

The house is in a small village. The people in the village are easy to approach and always in for a chat.
The area is quiet and tourism is not dominant. You can still taste and see the typical French country life. The region consists of a sloping landscape where forests and meadows (with Limousin cows) alternate. The meadows are bordered by wooded banks and stone walls.
Villa Felinas is situated between Ahun (4 km) and Guéret (15 km). In Ahun there are two supermarkets, a few bakers, butchers, etc. On Wednesday morning there is a weekly market. Guéret, the capital of the Creuse, is a medium-sized town with a dozen supermarkets and many shops. On Thursday and Saturday mornings, Gueret has an extensive market.

Wij hebben een maand mogen verblijven in jullie verblijf Felinas. Ondanks de dagen met regen hebben wij genoten van jullie mooie aangelegde tuin en compleet ingerichte huis. Wat een heerlijke plek om tot rust te komen. Ook hadden we het geluk dat jullie zelf ook 2 weken aanwezig waren in het dorp zodat we kennis hebben gemaakt met 2 gastvrije en onvermoeibare mensen. Wat een werk hebben jullie verzet en zullen jullie nog verzetten om jullie verblijven gezellig te maken. Dank je wel Cor en Marja voor de goede zorgen en misschien tot ziens.

Wat een heerlijke plek! Leuk huis met een prachtige tuin en evenzo prachtig zwembad, waar het voor ons nog even te koud voor was. We hebben dit huis gebruikt als uitvalsbasis voor het zoeken naar een eigen plek in deze regio om te gaan wonen. De omgeving is prachtig, je kan lange wandelingen uit huis maken, met de honden. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien, de bedden zijn opgemaakt en handdoeken ed aanwezig. Ahun vlakbij voor de dagelijkse boodschappen en zeer vriendelijke mensen in de omgeving. Felinas is een heerlijk gehucht om te verblijven. Rust en stilte , maar toch niet helemaal uit de bewoonde wereld. Het was fantastisch!

Wat een heerlijke 2 weken hebben wij gehad in dit fijne complete huis met een super tuin!!!
Je voelt je hier snel thuis en geniet van de rust en ruimte die hier heerst.
Wij waren hier met 2 volwassenen en 2 kinderen van 2,5 jaar en 8 maanden.
De oudste heeft genoten van alles wat er te doen is in de tuin. De grote trampoline, de schommels, de zandbak met speeltjes en iedere dag een appeltje plukken uit de boom in eigen tuin.
Met z’n allen in het zwembad was ook goed vertoeven. (Ook hiervoor was speelgoed)
Overal in de tuin voldoende zitplekken. Schaduw, zon wat je maar wilt. Met daarbij ook nog eens fantastisch uitzicht.
De eigenaar was toevallig ook in het dorpje tijdens ons bezoek en dat hebben wij als heel prettig ervaren. Hij was behulpzaam, gastvrij en attent. Niks was hem teveel om het ons naar onze zin te maken. Hij had zelfs een kinderbadje gekocht zodat de kids niet perse in het grote zwembad hoefden te gaan om met water te spelen. Super!!!
We zijn naar het wolvenpark geweest en naar Oradour-sur-Glane, erg indrukkend. Bij schemer vaak een ritje gemaakt in de omgeving om herten te spotten en ook iedere rit gezien.
Al met al kom je hier niks te kort en waan je je een leven als een God in Frankrijk!!!
Absoluut een plek om naar terug te keren.

Restaurants, food & wine
There are a few small restaurants in Ahun, including a pancake restaurant. There is also a good take-away pizzeria. In the immediate vicinity of Ahun are also several restaurants in Ste. Feyre, Chenerailles, Gouzon, Sous-Parsat. Guéret has several restaurants. Very popular are the between-the-morning restaurants in the area where you can enjoy the extensive four-course daily menu from 12.00 at an attractive price.
Activities
Near Guéret is a beautiful lake (Courtille) with plenty of swimming and playing facilities for children, there is a nature park with wolves and a garden with a maze.
The river Creuse meanders through the hilly landscape at 4 km from the house. At a number of places you can swim and fish (with fishing licence). For fishing in the lake of Felinas a fishing licence is present in the house. Please do bring your own fishing rod.
From the house you can make excellent walking and mountain bike tours. There are several routes in the area plotted (available through the tourist office). There are also several flea markets to visit in the area. In the summer there are brocantes (flea markets) or vide-greniers (clearance sales) throughout the region.
In the Creuse you can make nice trips to the cosy town Aubusson (known for its carpets) and one of the many castles. Some of them can be visited. At 40 km distance lies Lac Vassivière (a large lake between the hills) with various water sport possibilities.
Limoges, the capital of the Limousin region, is a decent city which is especially famous for the white porcelain which you can buy everywhere. Montluçon and Clermont-Ferrand are large cities in the Auvergne which are certainly worth a visit.

Prices are per week. In high season the minimum rental period is two weeks.
Saturday is the change-over day. You can enter the house from 14.00 hours. Extension per day is possible out of season and depending on rental afterwards.
Average electricity and water consumption as well as the use of WiFi are included in the rent.
