The mansion "Moulin de Sardeix" located in the heart of France on the romantic river La petite Creuse, lies at the foot of a secluded green valley. The winding country road leading to the house ends in a "cul de sac". (dead end country road). There is no through traffic, making the house very quiet. An oasis of peace, nature and beauty. The building still bears the name of the mill, but the mill has already been burned down in 1948. The beautiful and stately building is only 50 meters from the babbling river. It was built more than 200 years ago from natural stone, and the owner of the pre-Napoleonic estate has lifelong usage rights of the river.
The estate has 3.2 hectares of beautiful nature, 1,2 km of riverfront. The river is a good location for practicing fly fishing, and in the summer you can cool off in the river, or take a trip with the canoe or rowing boat. There is also a nice large terrace that stretches against the river, with a shaded summer kitchen with built-in pizza oven and grill.
There is a range of possibilities, and if you still want to visit the bustle, then the towns of Guéret, Aigurande, Eguzon, La Souterraine, Gargilesse, La Chatre, Dun-Le-Palestel, Boussac etc ... are a short distance away. Besides the many large lakes with crystal clear water for swimming and fishing, there is a multitude of beautiful villages, churches, castles, golf, tennis and horse facilities. Because the country house is located in central France, large cities are easy to reach. Limoges Airport is an hour away, and the next big city Chateauroux has a non-stop train connection to Paris.

As an interior architect I have been working for almost 40 years now, with a lot of passion and dedication, but also at a hellish pace. Now that I have turned 60, I want to pursue 2 dreams together with Karien. The first dream is to better reconcile work and enjoy life. Less hectic and more creativity in an inspiring environment. Our second dream is one of a major renovation of a French estate. Single-handedly, stone by stone renovation, with respect for traditions and nature.
We have been spending our holidays in the wonderful Limousin region for about 10 years. The periods at home and France alternated smoothly and increasingly quickly. That is how the idea grew to turn the concepts at home and France around. With only 650 km between the two we stay relatively close to the children and grandchildren, to combine the best of those two worlds. Agreements with customers are grouped in Belgium and subsequently redesigned in France. Thanks to technology, customers often do not notice that I call them or send a design mail from my desk to the river.
We do not want to sacrifice our health to make more money, then to have to cure our health with the money, to be worried about the future again, while in the meantime forget to live, and then die without having lived.
A quiet and simple life gives more oxygen, and nature and silence are the best medicine, it gives us more peace and insight, which certainly contributes to my creativity. All these considerations have helped us decide to invest in the historic estate Moulin De Sardeix. We have fallen as a block for the charms of the house and the river. This location fully meets our philosophy. The restoration and refurbishment of the mill house has become our joint project in which my wife and I can bring together our different talents. My wife Karien is involved in healthy orthomolecular nutrition, playing the piano and receiving the numerous guests. I myself can give up my creativity, shape interiors, make different artworks, and so on.
We would like to share this beautiful house and domain with nature reserve with others, in this way we get to know new people again and in the meantime they can give them a good time. For those who want to enjoy the peace, space and the beauty of nature in a lovely and romantic estate for a few days, Le Moulin De Sardeix is a perfect place. In addition to the quiet enjoyers, experienced cyclists, hikers and motorcyclists can also get their money's worth.

Wij hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf in ‘de cottage’.
De oude molenaarswoning is erg romantisch en sfeervol ingericht, net als vroeger, met een fijne haardkachel en een mooie oude keuken waar alle moderne apparatuur Aanwezig is.
Het huis ligt aan een riviertje, wat een rustgevende sfeer geeft. Je mag gewoon de roeiboot of de kajaks gebruiken die er klaarliggen.
Overal op het landgoed zijn leuke zitjes waar je kunt plaatsnemen En er is ook een buitenkeuken (bbq en pizzaoven) en een grote tafel.
De plek is aan te bevelen voor wandelaars en rustzoekers.
De gastheer en gastvrouw zijn buitengewoon aardige, enthousiaste mensen die er alles aan doen je het naar de zin te maken en trots hun domein laten zien.
