The house
We took care of the old detached barn in our yard and transformed it into a small gîte with all amenities (incl. solar panels) for a carefree holiday. The open space consists of a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting area, a nice and spacious queen-size bed (also for the slightly taller person) and a separate bathroom with shower. We have kept the old elements of the barn as much as possible; thick natural stone walls, beams and small windows that keep the sun out in summer and retain the warmth in winter.
In front of the cottage is the private covered terrace with garden seat and deck chairs.
You are also welcome with us if you have one or two dogs. They can safely run around on the private enclosed terrace.
Behind our gîte you will find an enclosed piece of garden with our swimming pool, which our guests can use.
The gîte is fully and comfortably furnished and suitable for two people, also for longer stays. Bed, bath and kitchen linen are all present and included in the rental price.
We can also accommodate you in autumn and winter, as the gîte is well insulated and has a stove. In the Creuse in this period it is enjoyable, because when the sun comes through - and it does so very regularly - it is lovely here.

Brosse is located between the charming market town of Boussac with its imposing castle and rural Clugnat in the Creuse, the green heart of France. Our gîte is an excellent base for making endless walking, cycling or motorbike trips; the hilly roads with little car traffic slope between meadows with cows and forests. Swimming in the lake of Châtelux-Malvaleix, walking between the Celtic dolmens of Les Pierres Jaumâtres, on Thursday mornings to the commodity market in Boussac with its many local products, every Sunday somewhere a bric-a-brac market, or just with a good book under a tree. From our gîte in Brosse, all this is accessible.

Activities
If you want to enjoy peace, space, clean air and nature, you have come to the right place in Creuse. It is not for nothing that the Creuse is also called the green heart of France. There are countless hiking, cycling and motorcycling routes.
In our yard you will find the necessary animals; 3 dogs, a bunch of chickens with their rooster and our 2 horses, Floor and Tabin. If you want to meet our horses, of course you can. For the more adventurous riders, there are possibilities of guided rides in the surroundings of Toulx Sainte Croix from the nearby Blue Shade Ranche.
Every farm in the Creuse has a large vegetable garden. So do we, and in summer they produce huge quantities of vegetables, fruit and herbs for our guests to enjoy. Home-made jams, pickled chutneys, a fresh cucumber or courgette, a handful of nuts, some apples or plums, a bunch of grapes and, of course, fresh eggs from our chickens.

For a small fee, you can use our washing machine and dryer.
Would you please leave the cottage clean and tidy on departure and empty the dustbin? We can take over the final cleaning for a fee.
