The house
The gîte 'La maison du jardinier' is located in the yard of the chateau and used to be the house of the gardener / manager of the chateau. The gîte has recently been completely renovated but authentic details in the house have been preserved. On the ground floor there is a living room with a huge authentic fireplace and wood stove, a separate fully equipped kitchen, a wardrobe and a toilet. On the first floor there is a very spacious bedroom with a double bed with adjustable back. Adjacent to the bedroom is a luxurious, spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower, bathtub and double washbasin. On the second floor is the second very spacious bedroom with a double bed.
The whole is very tastefully decorated.
The gîte has its own partially walled and paved terrace (complete privacy) of 65m2. The terrace runs into a private yard, surrounded by a traditional fence. The gîte has a view of the chateau and its park and further on the babbling brook and the wooded hills. When staying in the gîte, the park of the chateau and the private lake of the chateau (6 hectares in total) are completely at your disposal.

The village Vallière lies at 2 km distance. In the village there is a bakery, a butcher, a greengrocer, a pharmacy and a garage. A number of large supermarkets can be found in Aubusson (15 km away).
The surroundings and the overwhelming nature are ideal for walking, cycling and fishing. But also a ride in the car over the narrow winding roads and through the rolling hills will make you enjoy the beautiful landscape.
The historical town of Aubusson is situated 15 km from the chateau and the gîte. Aubusson has a rich history as the capital of the carpet industry. In the new carpet museum in Aubusson, you can find everything about this history. Aubusson has a multitude of restaurants and shops with regional products.
In the various villages in the area, many markets are organised during the high season where local, pure products are for sale.
The towels are changed daily and on arrival there is a welcome package for you.

The gîte is situated on the domain of chateau Sourliavoux in a very quiet, rural environment with breathtaking nature. Sloping grasslands with grazing limousine cows, wooded hills and babbling brooks.
At about 1,5 km is the village Vallière where you will find a bakery, a butcher, a greengrocer, a pharmacy and a small supermarket.
Aubusson is at 15 km. In Aubusson there are many terraces and restaurants, authentic shops with local products, but also a number of large supermarkets.
Aubusson is the capital of the carpet industry and has many historical sights. Also the carpet museum is located here and attracts many visitors.

La maison du jardinier is echt iets voor natuurliefhebbers en rustzoekers. Het is er mooi en heel stil. De gite is goed verzorgd. De ontvangst is hartelijk met een fles wijn en wat lekkere knabbels. Desgewenst elke dag schone handdoeken. Hieke is een attente en prettige gastvrouw.

The gîte 'La maison du jardinier' is located on the domain of chateau Sourliavoux near the village Vallière, situated in the natural park of the Millevaches. The chateau was originally a hunting lodge and is situated on a hilly plot of over 3 hectares and is surrounded by forests, lakes and streams. Chateau Sourliavoux has a private lake with a surrounding terrain, in total also 3 hectares, ideal for fishing and/or enjoying the peace and nature.
In the village of Vallière (1.5 km away) there is a bakery, a butcher, a greengrocer and a small supermarket. The charming town of Aubusson, capital of the carpet industry, is 15 km away. Chateau Sourliavoux is centrally located in the Creuse, surrounded by breathtaking nature. It lends itself perfectly to walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, swimming and canoeing.
