The house
Magnificent very spacious living accommodation with beautiful lounge/dining room measuring 52 square meters with comfortable sofas and chairs featuring a traditional stone fireplace all of which ensures room for all to relax, read, play games, watch a film or simply chill out. Flat screen HD TV with English satellite providing all TV channels. Separate area with dining table and chairs. A typical rural French style kitchen located on the first floor is fully equipped with oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee machine etc. The kitchen leads on to a small balcony with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. All the bedrooms are luxuriously appointed and well equipped with hairdryers and towels, 2 are on the ground floor and 3 are on the first floor. The property has 2 fully fitted bathrooms which have baths and showers and an en-suite shower room in Bedroom 1. There are also 2 further WC's in the property.
The house is highly suitable to families with small children having stair gates, fixed cot and two travel cots, high chair, baby bath, changing mat, potty, bottle sterilizer.

La Belle Echappee is situated within walking distance of the picturesque village of Faye L'Abbesse which has a friendly bar-restaurant, small supermarket, post office, pharmacy, boulangerie and hairdresser. The nearest town of Bressuire is 10 minutes drive and has numerous restaurants, shops and supermarkets. The medieval town of Parthenay with its beautiful ramparts and stunning hill-top views is 20 minutes drive away.
Known as one of France's 'Best Kept Secrets' the Deux-Sevres is a tranquil, unspoiled department of the Poitou-Charentes. The area has a mild micro-climate and is deemed to be the second sunniest region in France benefiting from the warmth of the La Rochelle basin. It is filled with lazy winding rivers and is a region truly dedicated to relaxing, restful holidays.

Graham and Diana are a lovely couple who make you feel at home instantly. The home was very clean, and very well maintained. The pool was clean and nice water. We had such a lovely week, we wish we stayed a week longer. Especially ideal for families with kids, who like to play football, jeux de boules and table tennis :) We would love to come back again!!! Restaurants, food & wine
The restaurant in the village is open during the week at lunch time and serves the traditional plat du jour which includes wine. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights they cook pizza that you can either eat in the bar area or take away.
There are many restaurants in Bressuire offering a range of different cuisines including typical French, Thai, Chinese, Italian, Creperie.
There are two Caves in Bressuire where you can sample and buy wine. Being just south of the Loire Valley we are close to many vineyards.
Other restaurants can be found in the nearby village of Airvault and also the nearby town of Parthenay.
The beautiful Chateau Colbert at Maulevrier with its magnificent food and wine is approximately 30 minutes away and perfect for a special occasion.
Activities
La Belle Echappee sits within walled and gated grounds of one hectare with private use heated salt water swimming pool offering an abundance of safe activities and entertainment to suit all the family. It is within easy reach of many tourist attractions and the coast. At the property there are large football nets, badminton net and equipment, basket ball stand, table tennis, rounders, cricket, croquet, boules, darts, swings and slide. With eight adult bikes, three children's bikes and two tricycles available you can explore the village or just ride around the grounds and see the chickens and ducks.
Leisure activities less than 12 miles from the property:
Tennis, squash, riding school, pony club, golf driving range, a new 18 hole golf course has recently opened in Bressuire with a British professional, ten-pin bowling, archery, go-karting, petanque field. Also an abundance of country walks and cycling routes are situated around the property.
Other attractions to visit:
Puy du Fou is simply amazing. The shows are fantastic entertainment and you need not be fluent in French to understand the strorylines. (40 minutes)
Futuroscope is a hi-tech experience with adventures on land, sea and in outer space using the latest projection system technology. (50 minutes)
Being just south of the Loire Valley we are close to many vineyards. Saumur or Montreuil-Bellay are under an hour away, Saumur boasts a beautiful Chateau and Tank museum. There are several vineyards where you can sample the produce and buy direct from the producers.
The picturesque town of Coulon in the Marais Poitevin (France's Green Venice) is 45 minutes away by car. Here you can sit by the river and watch the world go by, hire a boat and punt around the canals yourself or hire a guide who will do all the hard work for you and tell you the history.
The Atlantic coastline is an easy drive providing accessing for day trips to coastal towns of La Rochelle, or the stunning beaches of Chatelaillon-Plage, Ile de Re or Les Sables d'Olonne. Not only is La Rochelle a beautiful port city but it has a superb Aquarium and some fantastic restaurants with opportunity for al fresco dining and people watching.
