The house
The Tiny House is a wooden house built in 2019 at the far end of the property, and designed to be as ecological as possible. It is suitable for two to four people, depending on age and privacy wishes. You will have 20 M2 inside and a terrace of 15 M2, as well as a large piece of land on which you can put a tent if necessary.
The Tiny House has one double bed and a kitchenette in the living area, and two "chauffeuses" (folding beds) or a cot can be placed in it. Thanks to an ingenious solution for the cooking island, you can cook outside in the summer!
The bathroom of the Tiny House has a shower and a sink and a dry toilet. In both construction and maintenance, we have tried to use as many ecological materials and principles as possible.
In the season we organise table d'hôte, a pizza night on fixed evenings and a Sunday morning breakfast, but this can also be arranged on other days on request (subject to change).

Located in the south of Deux-Sèvres, in the heart of Poitou-Charentes, in a rural area, 500 metres from the sources of the river Sèvre Niortaise. A hilly area, with fertile red soil and deep lanes, which cross the area in large numbers and make hiking/cycling a fantastic activity. The small towns of Melle and Celles-sur-Belle ("petites cités de caractère") and the other special villages, towns and cities have a southern French character, not least because of the white limestone and the red roof tiles.
La Rochelle, the Marais Poitevin (the French Giethoorn) can be reached by car in respectively 45 minutes and an hour.

Restaurants, food & wine
True to French tradition, the inhabitants of Deux-Sèvres love good food and drink. Typical regional dishes are the Farci Poitevin, the Tourteau Fromager, the Fouace from La Mothe-Saint-Héray...
The Deux-Sèvres has the largest goat population in France, and this is reflected in the large number of goat cheeses, one of which is an AOC (a second is on the way).
By the way: the Deux-Sèvres has the largest number of AOCs in France: two goat cheeses, one wine, Angélique de Niort and the Beurre d'Echiré!
Activities
The area is excellent for exploring by bike, on foot, on horseback, by car. There are marked walks everywhere (Sepvret is on the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostella!).
The cities and towns are without exception worth a visit. An incredible number of Romanesque churches (on the list of monuments and Unesco World Heritage), the largest burial mounds in Western Europe and the modern museum of Bougon, castles and fortified towns, modern art of great quality, the large number of festivals and the typical French markets and "vide greniers" make a visit to the Deux-Sèvres a great holiday.

There is a possibility to enrich your stay at La Grosse Talle with some coaching sessions: owner Jan Nagel has set up the coaching office Bilance in Niort. Bilance helps you in the interesting search for your personal values, interests, thinking styles, choice styles, competences, strengths and weaknesses, educational and professional preferences, blockades that prevent you from making your decision, etc., etc. The result is..... Learning to find answers to your questions and... regaining the will to give life a new impetus.
Additional price info and offers
In principle, the Tiny House is rented out per week in the period mid-July to the end of August. The change-over day is Sunday - if you want to change this, please contact us, as well as if you want to stay longer (but not two weeks) or shorter than a week, so we can look at the possibilities together.
