The house
Located in a beautiful, sheltered valley with breathtaking views over the rolling countryside, Les Glycines offers a warm and generous home for the whole family. The cottage takes its name from the wisteria (Glycines) that adorns the facade. With four bedrooms, this house is ideal for larger families or two families travelling together (up to 8 people + baby).

Ground floor (Living space & Cosiness)
Living room (34m²): A bright, spacious room with large windows, robust beams and a cosy wood-burning stove. Equipped with streaming TV and a wide selection of books and games.
Kitchen & Dining Room: Fully equipped for extensive cooking, including dishwasher, oven, microwave, washing machine and an authentic wood-burning stove.
Upstairs (Sleeping comfort).
The house features two separate staircases leading to the quiet sleeping quarters:
Wing 1: A cosy bedroom with an antique French double bed and oak beams, plus a second bedroom with bunk beds. Private shower room with toilet.
Wing 2: A twin bedroom and a second room with an antique French double bed. Both rooms have beautiful oak floors and overlook the woods. Again, there is a private shower room with toilet.
🌳 Outdoor living
Private Terraces: At the front, you will enjoy a large private dining area with barbecue for long summer evenings. There is also a separate sunny lawn terrace with parasol.
For the little ones: We offer a complete baby kit (2x carry cot, high chairs, baby bath, changing mat and cutlery) completely free of charge.
Extras: In July and August, we deliver fresh artisan bread and croissants to your door. Staying 7 nights? Then a delicious welcome pack is waiting for you.

Take a refreshing dip in our large, safely fenced swimming pool (9 x 5), beautifully situated in a sheltered, sunny valley.
Relax: A spacious sun terrace with comfortable loungers and parasols surrounds the pool.
For the little ones: there is a safe paddling pool.
Season: Open from May to October.
🏸 Active & Sporty
On our large, well-equipped playing field, boredom is not an option.
Live it up with:
Sports: Football, table tennis, badminton and various outdoor games.
French classics: A boules court right next to the swimming pool and a croquet lawn near the vegetable garden.
Out and about: Explore the wooded surroundings by bike. Bring your own bike or rent locally.
🦋 A garden paradise
We aim to create our own 'Garden of Eden'. Our fledgling food forest and lush garden are a magnet for local wildlife. Don't be surprised if you spot red squirrels, buzzards, lizards or countless butterflies and ladybirds during your stay. Wild boars, deer and badgers are also frequent visitors to our grounds.

In Frankrijk zijn vind ik altijd fijn, maar dit keer was het super fijn. Het is daar zo stil dat er echt alleen het stroompje van de rivier hoort. We gingen naar buiten kijken als er een auto langs kwam, want er kwam gewoon nooit iemand in de buurt. We zijn weer helemaal opgeladen om 2023 aan te pakken. We hebben fijn kunnen koken en heelrijk met het gezin en later met met opa en oma zitten eten en praten. Het is zo fijn om de tijd met elkaar te hebben. Ann en Ray hartelijk dank voor een heerlijke kerst en oud & nieuw. Wie weet zien we elkaar nog eens.

Heel gastvrij, hebben het heel erg naar ons zin gehad.
Zeker een aanrader, zwembad, tafeltennis, en de rust was echt heel fijn.

Een heerlijke week gehad bij Anne en Ray. We verbleven in Les Glycines La Roche, alles goed verzorgd en alles aanwezig. Mooie rustige omgeving, lekker zwembad en een mooie uitvalsbasis voor een of meerdere dagen naar Puy du Fou. La Rochelle en Ile de Re zijn ook aanraders. Op 5 min rijden zijn de supermarkten beschikbaar. Al met al een heerlijke week gehad.

Fishing: Enthusiasts can indulge at Pescalis, a beautiful fishing lake 10 minutes' drive away, known for carp up to 25 kg.
Natural phenomenon: Just north of l'Absie is the Rocher Branlant, a mysterious rock that moves when you push against it.
Walking & Cycling: Several routes start directly from the gîte. We have detailed maps ready for you!

Comfort & Hospitality at Les Glycines
We make every effort to make your stay as relaxing as possible. From fresh bread at breakfast to comprehensive information on the region, everything is provided.
🥐 Our Services
Fresh bread at the door: In July and August, enjoy our daily delivery service. Order your artisan baguettes, croissants or pains au chocolat in advance and start the day off right.
Always connected: Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the estate and in each gîte.
Linen & Towels: We provide fresh bed linen and towels (small and large).
Please note: For the swimming pool and cots, please bring your own towels and bed linen.
🏡 Your Private Space & Tranquillity
Each of our three gîtes has two private terraces: one in the sun and one in the shade. So you will always choose the perfect spot. The terraces are fully equipped with garden furniture, parasols and a barbecue.
Our gîtes border a quiet country road (chemin) where only the postman passes every day; peace and quiet guaranteed!
Child-friendly & Well-equipped
For the little ones: we have cots, mattresses, high chairs and special children's cutlery and crockery available.
Kitchen: Each gîte has a fully equipped kitchen where you will lack nothing.
Relaxation: In the gîtes you will find a wide selection of books and board games. Did you know that the Parthenay region is famous for the annual FLIP festival (the international games festival)?

🤝 Your host family
We ourselves live in the house at the end of the estate. We are always around to help you with tips for trips, restaurant reservations or simply to make sure you lack nothing.

5% discount for a booking of 2 weeks (14 days)
5% discount if you book 2 gites (together with La Roche or Les Petites Pierres)
10% discount if you rent all three gites (Les Glycines, La Roche and Les Petites Pierres)
For guests who have been with us before (from 2010), we offer a 10% discount.
The rental includes - electricity, gas, bed linen, small towels and tea towels. Bath towels are not provided but can be rented - 15€ for 4 towels per week. For stays of 14 days+, we provide a second set of bed linen.
The deposit is payable in cash on arrival and is a guarantee against any breakage, damage, loss or breach of our Terms and Conditions. It will be refunded at the end of your stay, after inspection, less any deductions.
Gites must be left in the same state of cleanliness and order as at the beginning of the holiday. Cleaning materials and equipment are provided in the property. Any damaged or broken items must be replaced or will be deducted from your deposit.
We are unable to accommodate pets and smoking is only allowed outdoors.
The owners live on site and are available to help with any problems regarding the Gite. We try to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible, so if there are any problems, please report them to us as soon as possible so that we can rectify them promptly.
