The house

  • Quiet, built-up area with some traffic

The gite La Poste, is an imposing 15th- 16th century building and is located in the friendly village of Cubjac Auvézère Val d'Ans,
on the river Auvézère in the Périgord Blanc in the Dordogne.

La Poste has its entrance on the street side with its generous entrance with long corridor and a castle-like stone staircase, which goes up to the étage....

The living/lounge and kitchen area is on the ground floor and the very spacious bedroom and bathroom are on the first floor.

The kitchen area has a dining table with chairs and is directly adjacent to the kitchen, which is fully equipped with fridge, washing machine, 4 burner hob, extractor hood,
oven, microwave, coffee machine, coffee grinder, mixer and other appliances and the necessary crockery.

The lounge has 2 sofas and an armchair.

The long corridor with at the end an original and beautiful stone staircase leads you to the first floor, with the very spacious bedroom with one double bed, one single bed and "lazy" sitting area. and a writing/breakfast (table).sitting area.

Also on this floor, right next to the bedroom, you will find the bathroom which is equipped with a shower, washbasin, bidet and toilet.

This house is very spacious and tastefully decorated and can easily accommodate 3 people.

The entrance to the garden is 10 paces from the gîte La Poste.

The beautiful garden with its centuries-old trees, has several seating areas, dining tables and chairs and offers you the opportunity to relax, read your book or prepare your meals on the barbecue and eat them there.

The particularly spacious courtyard and very large garden are accessible to the other 3 gîtes on the estate, without prejudice to each one's "privacy".

The garden which of course is equipped with (dining) tables, chairs and loungers is very spacious and rich in various sun and shade spots, so everyone can find his or her own spacious spot,

Your pet is welcome, however, please consult in advance, about the arrival of your beloved pet, because initially your pet must remain leashed in the courtyard / garden and its own bed to sleep.

The beautiful green and very natural surroundings of this village are perfect for taking your four-legged friend out for lovely walks.

The gîte La Poste on the Domain "Le Nid des Oiseaux" has a large courtyard and a large walled garden, with its century-old trees under which it is good to relax, and is located in the village Cubjac Auvézère Val d'Ans, on the river Auvézère.with its sandy beach in the Périgord Blanc in the Dordogne.

The holiday home is a few steps from the river.
The surroundings are lovely and rolling and wooded with many footpaths.

The Dordogne is the land of the 1001 castles like Hautefort, Beynac and Castelnau, the medieval towns like Périgueux and Sarlat,
Brantome,.Brantome is also called the Venice of the Dordogne.

And of course the world-famous caves such as Lascaux in Montignac and the caves of Tourtoirac make the Dordogne a beautiful and very unique province, with its still-preserved nature, where deer and other wildlife just unexpectedly appear on your path at dusk or early in the morning...and this is an experience in itself.

Komen heel graag weer terug!!!

Restaurants, food & wine

Dordogne is known for its culinary delights where Foie Gras, Cêpe and Truffe wave the cepter
and the wine from Bergerac also deserves its fame.

Of course, there are the daily markets where you buy the products directly from the producer.
The night markets in the various villages, where you can buy regional products and where for example the magret de canard is baked directly on the spot for you
and where you can also sit down at the table to enjoy these dishes.

In the surrounding villages, you will find a wide range of restaurants offering the famous specialities of the Dordogne.

Activities

The Dordogne is the land of culture, nature and history, its 1001 castles, its medieval towns, its museums, its world-famous caves,
many charming villages, markets, its summer festivals and numerous sights... in short, plenty to do culturally.

In the evenings, there are many "food markets" where you can buy delicious local dishes and enjoy them on the spot, not to mention the numerous restaurants where you can enjoy the culinary delights.

The landscape is gently undulating with rivers, streams and waterfalls meandering through it, where you can swim, cycle and hike to your heart's content,
cycling and walking, as well as swimming in the river with its sandy beach, here in the village, but also fishing and canoeing in the river
and tennis, horse riding and golf in a village nearby.

If you don't feel like being active, it's great lazing by the river or in a deck chair in the intimacy of the walled garden and in the shade of the century-old trees, here in the garden.

Further remarks

The gîte La Poste is built of natural stone without cement and the walls are +/- 80 cm thick. and this building stays wonderfully cool in the hot summers.

The many authentic elements such as the round carved walls, the original outside walls, leading to an ancient stone staircase,
the fireplaces, alcoves, and oeil de boeuf emerged after I stripped it of its thick plaster coating
and thus found much of its original beauty again.

The large courtyard and large garden have the necessary seating areas as easy chairs and dining tables with chairs and offers you peace and quiet.

There is also a barbecue on which you can prepare your meal.

You have your own key to access the garden.

The house is non-smoking.

This Domaine lends itself to both individual and group rentals, family or friends reunions, or
music, painting, language, meditation, wellness or sports workshops.

The garden is spacious and has various seats and lazy chairs.
Your four-legged friend is welcome, but please inform me in advance.

In the immediate green surroundings there are many beautiful walking routes for you and your pet
