The house
Lortal is an old farmhouse, about eight kilometres from the medieval town of Belvès, in the hamlet of Doissat. Sarlat, Lascaux and Bergerac are also within easy reach. For the Dutchmen Renée and André van Soest this is home.
In a quiet, shady corner of the grounds lies Petite Lortal, a recently renovated and completely detached holiday home for two adults. If you plan to discover the culinary and other delights of the Périgord on foot, on horseback, by bike, canoe or by car, you will find the ideal base here. Also those who like to play golf or fishing will find plenty of opportunity here.
The compactly furnished house has, besides a pleasant private garden, everything you need: a modern kitchen and bathroom, a well-equipped living room and a bedroom with two single beds. There is also (electric) heating for the chilly days in spring and autumn. During your stay, the owners will be discreetly present on the "farm" to show you the way around and provide all the support you need to make your holiday unforgettable, and if there is any washing to be done, you can also ask for it. As Petite Lortal is the only holiday home on site, you will not have to share their attention with anyone else. Although French law on the subject can sometimes seem strange and unreasonable, Renée and André will be happy to discuss with you how you can make use of their private pool.
For transport in the Périgord, you are dependent on a car. From the Netherlands there are many flights a week with Transavia from Amsterdam to Bergerac, including Saturdays. At Bergerac airport you can rent a car.
The beautiful cities of Belvès, Sarlat and Bergerac are nearby, as are the caves of Lascaux. Visit the wine chateaux or the beautiful castles. Nice walks, canoeing, horse riding and golf, it's all possible. Active visitors to the Périgord commit themselves to return year in, year out. As far as we are concerned, this is the ultimate proof of the magical appeal of this wonderfully peaceful part of France.

In an area rich in history, scattered prehistoric caves, ancient castles, medieval towns and villages, food and wine are one of life's priorities. There are markets full of local fresh produce every day in one of the surrounding villages. The stalls are full of fruit and vegetables, local cheese, wine, fish, pates, clothing, kitchen utensils and bric-a-brac.

Heerlijk verblijf in Petite Lortal in de prachtige regio van de Dordogne. Leuk huis met alle benodigdheden aanwezig, heerlijk bed en prima douche. Prachtige privé tuin waarbij je 's morgens vroeg of in de vooravond enkele herten kan spotten en zalig van de zon of de schaduw kan genieten. Het zwembad is zalig om af te koelen na één van de vele daguitstappen. Op een half uurtje rijden kan je alle prachtige bezienswaardigheden van de Dordogne bekijken of kanovaren op de Dordogne (route Vitrac tot Beynac is een aanrader) of de Vézère.
Bij terugkeer in het huisje kan je telkens genieten van de zalige rust en de mooie natuur.
Fietsen kan op de Voie Verte 91 van Lalinde naar Bergerac (50 km heen en terug) zonder auto's in de buurt.
Het is vanuit het huisje even rijden naar een bakker of supermarkt maar de rust en stilte ter plaatse maakt dit wel goed. Bedankt voor het leuke welkomstpakket, zeer handig bij aankomst. Petite Lortal was een heerlijke ervaring, bedankt André en Renée.Comment from Renée & André van Soest

Een super rustige plek waar we enorm zijn uitgerust. Wat een fijn huisje. Geweldige zwembad en alle ruimte. Alles was zoals de foto's hadden laten zien. Wij hebben genoten en kunnen dit iedereen aanraden.

Huisje is super mooi gelegen, totale rust hier. Alle comfort aanwezig. Ik had vele spullen bij zoals handdoeken, thee, koffie, kruiden, ... en dat was allemaal aanwezig. Ook werden we verrast met een flesje wijn en wat versnaperingen. Ook de ontvangst door de eigenaars was zeer fijn. Een aanrader voor wie graag van rust en natuur kan genieten!
Restaurants, food & wine
Almost everywhere you will find restaurants that can satisfy all expectations with elaborate menus and local wines. We especially recommend trying the menu du jour at lunch; it is unbeatable value for money and almost universally delicious. Within an hour's drive are the vineyards of Bergerac or Cahors, where it is possible to taste some of the wines.
Also try to eat at one of the evening markets, the "marché nocturne". Many villages have their own food market on different evenings. This is a special experience and will certainly be worth repeating. Bring your own plate and glass (or hire one locally), walk along the many stalls and buy some food and drink and then sit down next to the French on the long rows of benches and tables. One of the best and most extensive is in nearby Belves.
Activities
For sporty people, there are possibilities of horseback riding, tennis, fishing, canoeing, golf, hiking, too many to mention. In addition, you can visit beautiful villages and castles. In the area, besides the famous caves of Lascaux, you can also visit other less busy caves.

Prices do not include compulsory final cleaning of € 40, but the house must be left tidy. Bed linen and towels are included. Deposit is € 250, -.
