Your holiday home is situated on a exceptional piece of land of 1 acre with magnificent views. The setting is ideal for guests looking for a relaxing holiday in a natural environment. A 500 yds walk leads you to a panoramic tower where you can spot the valley of Dordogne. Charming villages like Salviac, Daglan and Cazals are 3 to 5 miles away from the house ; you can find small shops there : bakery, butcher, press shop and a small market. Supermarkets can be found in Cenac (10 min) or Gourdon (15 min).
A brand new private pool of 5 x 12.5 yds is equipped with a safety cover and electric heating.The pool is surrounded with terraces, armchairs, lounge chairs and sun shades integrated in the terraces. Your holiday home has been renovated but has well maintained its authentic character. A covered porch of 70 m2 with a view on het swimming pool is equipped with a barbecue and bar. This way, outdoor comfort is guaranteed under all metereological circumstances!

We hebben 2 weken mogen genieten in dit prachtige huis met zeer groot zwembad op een prachtige en zeer rustige plek. Meer dan voldoende comfortable lig en zit stoelen en een zeer grote veranda. Zelfs met 39 graden was het zeer goed buiten uit te houden en binnen zorgde de dikke muren voor voldoende koelte. De airco op de 2e verdieping werkte prima om die slaapkamers weer af te koelen. De airco in de kamer eigenlijk niet nodig gehad. Door de prettige en snelle communicatie met Frank waren de paar vragen die aan het begin van het verblijf opkwamen snel beantwoord.

Wat was het heerlijk vertoeven in Le Vieux Chêne !
Dit charmante huis met tal van knusse zithoeken, ruime kamers, goed uitgeruste keuken, het overdekt terras, de schaduw van de oude eik, het verwarmde zwembad, de uiterst rustige locatie... zorgen allemaal voor instant vakantiesfeer en tevens een thuisgevoel.
De Amerikaanse koelkast vonden wij een troef, alsook de mogelijkheid om TV-Vlaanderen te kijken.

Wat een prachtig huis op een prachtige locatie!
Het huis is heel compleet en heeft een zeer grote veranda waar je heerlijk kunt zitten. In de week dat wij er waren was het erg warm, de veranda is dan heerlijk koel.
We hebben genoten van het grote zwembad. Rond het zwembad zijn voldoende ligstoelen en parasols.

Les caves du vin de Domme, a famous wine cellar, is at walking distance. Gastronomes will be very enthusiastic about restaurants like La Tonelle in Beynac, Le Petit Paris in Daglan, La Croque Note in Gourdon. Le tournepique in Castelnaud is also one of our very cosy favorites.
The Perigord is renowned for the truffles, the foie gras and the nuts. A Barbecue with wood is at your disposal.
Activities
You'll find lots of interesting places to visit nearby : Castles and fortifications like Castelnaud, Marqueyssac, Beynac, gardens and magnificent views. Old famous cities like Domme and Sarlat, bastides like Monpazier and Belves, local markets with dainties so typical for this part of France. Rocamadour, a place of pilgrimage, lots of prehistoric caves, ...
In July and August, you can attend local festivities set up by the villagers.
Furthermore, mountain biking, cycling, canoeing on the River Dordogne or Vézère, ballooning, walking, horse riding, are just a couple of things you might like to do.
