The house
Traditional 18c stone Perigordian farm cottage, with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, in an idyllic countryside location. Salon with wood burning stove. Perfect to relax in front of the fire. Fully equipped kitchen, with 4 burner gas stove, refrigerator, and everything to cook your gourmet meal and finish wit coffee and tea.
Within 3 km are everything you need. Supermarket, pharmacy, shops, restaurants bars, and the medieval village and castle of Hautefort.
Our 6ha property with gardens and trees. We encourage you to pick the fruit from the trees when in season – cherries, apples, plums, pears, ….There is lawned areas with shrubs and flower beds, secluded seating, places to wander, shaded areas, sun areas… There is a swimming pool with sundeck and sun loungers, deck, children’s play area with swings and toys, a ping pong table, and a volleyball / badminton net. Covered, private terraces for dining with barbeques.
Swimming pool and Games room is open seasonally June to October.

The village of St Agnan is and easy walk down a quiet country lane, about 1 km away.
Here you can get a fresh baguettes and croissants at the bakery, also a restaurant, where you can eat delicious à la carte, but also just fries, pizza.
Hautefort is at 2.5km. There is magnificent Chateau de Hautefort to visit and a Museum of Medicine. There are more restaurants, a tabac, and a large supermarket, and butcher.
Our little hamlet of traditional houses is a lovely area to relax and enjoy country walks, bike rides, nature, and the calm.

Our local restaurants are highly rated and easy to get to. Enjoy the local confit and magret de canard, foie gras, walnuts, and black truffles.

Activities
There is a 4x9m heated swimming pool (Open seasonally June - Sept) with a terrace equipped with sun loungers and parasols. Surrounded by unspoiled nature, there are plenty of walking and cycling opportunities in this beautiful area right from your holiday home. Bikes, including electric, for rent through a local company that will deliver right to your door. Canoeing on the various rivers, the Dordogne goes past 4 castles; nearest canoe rental at 5 km on a quiet charming river. Horse riding and golf nearby.

Further remarks
This is the land of Castles, Caves, Farms, and good food. There are over 1000 castles in the Dordogne region, with the Chateaux de Hautefort one of the prettiest and most spectacular.
Visit the Grotte de Tourtoirac with it’s stalactites and stalagmites.
Visit local farms to taste walnut products, goat cheese, and the famous foie gras de canard.

There is no sharing of the pool and games room; 2nd gite will not be rented during your stay, ensuring you have privacy and can enjoy your holiday in peace.
