Snacks or more substantial meals can be enjoyed at the beachside bar and restaurant. Across from the beach you will find high ropes activities, The Arbor Adventure Nature Park at Saint-Aulaye has something for all of the family. They have a number of exciting ropes courses through the trees, ranging from an 80 metre long zip line, to an 8 metre high ropes course, to a 1 metre high course for small children. Aubeterre sur Dronne
Officially listed as one of 'The Most Beautiful Villages in France' since 1993, it has welcomed pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostella in north west Spain, visitors and tourists for over 1000 years. Two important historical monuments add to the cultural status of Aubeterre sur Dronne; the extraordinary, monolithic, underground Church of St Jean and the Romanesque Church of St Jacques, with its stunning façade. Visitors and tourists can enjoy meandering through the ups and downs of the narrow streets, popping in to admire the many specialist shops, including a leather worker and potters, and then settling down in the village square, Place Trarieux, at one of the cafés or restaurants, comfortably shaded by ancient lime trees. For the energetic visitor there are activities aplenty. Aubeterre sur Dronne has been designated a “Station Verte” for over 25 years. At the foot of the village, where the meadows meet the River Dronne, are to be found a river beach and restaurant.
Market day in Aubeterre is on a Sunday morning.
Lake Jemaye
Located in the heart of the Double, characterised by its woodland and stretches of water, the Grand Etang de la Jemaye is one of the gems of this magnificent ancient forest. The site is composed of a vast forest and six interconnected ponds. Used for swimming and watersports since the 70s, the department of Dordogne has developed this site so that it would be able to reconcile the large number of visitors that it attracts and the protection of its natural habitats and species. Perfect for a family day out, shaded areas for picnics. Children's play area. Designated area for paddling and swimming which is manned by a life guard in the summer months. Snack bars serving ice creams, lunches drinks etc.
Brantome
Brantome is an idyllic village located to the north of Perigueux on the banks of the River Dronne.
The town is known locally as the Venice of Perigord. Wooded cliffs loom up behind the beautiful Benedictine abbey and the river Dronne runs around the village in front of a Benedictine Abbey. There is a small weir and a lovely and unusual right-angled stone bridge to add to the beauty of the scene.
During a walk around the rest of the small village of Brantome you can see various examples of medieval and renaissance architecture. The town also boasts a selection of good restaurants including the Michelin starred Moulin de l’Abbaye.
Market day is Friday in Brantome
Riberac
Dating from the 9th century and set in the Dronne valley, Riberac is at its best on a Friday morning, market day for reputedly the biggest market in Perigord. At most other times it is fairly quiet.
Riberac is a pleasant market town which is pleasant to explore, stop for lunch or a coffee or browse the shops along the high street.

Reviews
Marja from Utrecht,
Steve is heel aardig. Katrien Van Geel from Loenhout,
+++Comment from Steven Ball

Best wishes SteveDennis from Lichtaart,
