The house
La Porcherie is a 200 year old stone house which can accommodate 10 guests. On the open-plan ground floor there is a large sitting area with comfortable settees and armchairs, wood burning stove and DVD player and screen, (no television). The dining area has a table and chairs for 10 guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is a downstairs toilet. On the first floor there are 4 bedrooms, 2 with double beds and 2 with twin beds (and room for a cot). There is one bathroom which comprises of bath tub, with a shower over it, toilet, bidet and wash basin. There is also a separate shower room with toilet and wash basin. On the 2nd floor there is a mezzanine bedroom (accessed by ladder) with 2 single beds and has a safety gate. Cots and high chairs are provided.

Gites are in a small hamlet, in open countryside,with the nearest villages with a baker and shop being St Jory de Chalais 3.5 Kms. and St Saud Lacoussiere and Mialet about 8kms. Nearest town is Thiviers 13kms, and Nontron 24kms..Both with large supermarkets and banks etc.. Perigueux is the nearest city which is 40 Kms away.

Shared 6m x 12m swimming pool with shower,— fully fenced with safety gate. , large lawn, with table tennis , swing and slide .and basket ball., and plenty of room for ball games etc..
Smaller lawn adjacent to pool with sun loungers and parasols etc.. each cottage have table and chairs and parasols to the front and to the rear,. Barbecues are provided.. 2 Clothes washing machines are free to use at anytime in a separate room. There is also large clothes drying lines on the lower lawn , beside the off-road car parking area .
