The house
This house has been family-owned for 60 years and has been operating as a winery again since 2010. You can stay on our property and feel like a wine farmer, without the burdens but with the pleasures. Surrounding the farm is 150,000m2 of forest and 15,000m2 of vineyard. For lovers, we have Merlot, Cabernet Franc , Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon planted and make red wine and rosé. The estate is located in a valley where it is deafeningly quiet. Not bothered by traffic or tourists. You live here together and in nature with lots, deer, badgers, hares and birds all around you. Waking up here is a delight. Get fresh croissants in Castelnaud and have breakfast, swim in the pool or go to the river. Nothing must and at lunch on the terrace rosé from its own domain where you look out over the vineyards. In the loggia in the afternoon you can dream about a life as a winemaker. In the evening, at a long table with family and friends, enjoy the food and red wine from our own vineyard.

Eigenlijk willen we deze parel geheim houden. Zodat alleen wij hiervan weten. Want voor je het weet loopt het storm in Veyerines de Domme, en dat mag niet gebeuren. Want wakker worden met alleen het gefluit van wat vogels, een vosje in de tuin, een ree verderop? Een twinkelende sterrenhemel boven je terras in de avond, nippend van de rode wijn die op dit domein is gemaakt? Een kleine snack bereiden in de grote van alles voorziene keuken? Onder de lindeboom een boek lezen en even dippen in het koele zwembadje? Nee joh, niet doen. Dan blijft het nog even tussen ons en de lieve eigenaren.

Een heerlijk gezellig huis met veel mogelijkheden om te zitten en te genieten van de zon, zowel in de ochtend als in de avond. Rustige omgeving en dichtbij de leuke dorpjes en kastelen in de Dordogne. Ook de rivier is dichtbij en heeft mogelijkheden tot kanoeen, zwemmen etc. Goede voorzieningen en rijkelijk aanwezig. TV is er niet (maar hebben we ook niet gemist!). Huiseigenaren zeer gastvrij, discreet en behulpzaam. Leuke tips gekregen wat te doen in de omgeving en ook nog een wijntoertje over het domein gedaan (aanrader!). Een uitstekende vakantie gehad!! (2 gezinnen, 4 volwassenen, 5 tieners).
Activities
Domaine Lalande is located outside the village of Veyrines de Domme. And Veyrines is in the southernmost part of the Dordogne department. The department is named after the river where further on towards Bordeaux are some of the best vineyards in the world. Despite the secluded location of 'Domaine Lalande', there is a huge amount to do within a 15-minute drive. Golf, tennis, swimming and canoeing in the Dordogne River. A hiking trail runs alongside 'Domaine Lalande', you can mountain bike, visit caves, visit markets with truffles, cheese, walnuts and the best chicken you've ever tasted.
