The house
The holiday home 'NADINE' is in a wooded area and as a resident you will notice how peaceful and quiet it is here. A walk across the 5.5-hectare grounds is always a pleasure, across the rolling meadow and through the forest with a small 'plan d'eau' . . Children can play freely in the forest.
In the summer holiday months, the grounds are used by 'rustic' campers, the house is not rented then.
The house has been completely modernised. The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker, dishwasher, electric oven, coffee maker, hand blender. microwave and the necessary pots and pans. The dining area is next to the kitchen and is separated from the spacious living room with a seating area with TV, and a single bed. Heating is provided by central heating and a wood-burning stove. Shower and toilet areas are separated and also provide space for the washing machine. There is one bedroom with a double bed and one bedroom with two single beds. It is also possible, by arrangement, to use part of the grounds for e.g. friends and family in addition to renting the house. They can camp here and use the camping toilet.
On the grounds, there is also a 4-person mobile home in a beautiful spot overlooking the grounds. It can be rented during the months of June, July, August and September.
The swimming pool can be used by tenants. The pool water is purified by means of a salt plant, making it gentle for the skin and eyes.
About 3 km away is Villefranche du Périgord. The village has 2 bakers, 2 supermarkets, a butcher, a few restaurants, a café 'tabac' for the newspaper, among other things, and a public tennis court.
There is a market on Saturday mornings.

Peyret Bas is situated between the hills and about 3 km north of the 'bastide town' Villefranche du Périgord in the south-eastern part of the Dordogne. In Villefranche du Périgord, one of the beautiful bastide towns, you can do all your shopping. On Saturday morning there is a market and on almost every day of the week there is a weekly market in the neighbourhood. In this part of the Dordogne or Périgord Noir, you will find many medieval villages/ bastides and authentic towns such as Sarlat du Canada, Monpazier, Lalinde, Molières and Belvès. Around the Dordogne River, there are beautiful castles to visit and a visit to one of the many caves is also well worthwhile. You will find all this in the beautiful nature of the Périgord. Canoe trips can be made on the Dordogne and - Lot rivers. For keen walkers and trained cyclists, there are plenty of hiking and cycling opportunities.

Restaurants, food & wine
Both the wines of Cahors and Bergerac are delicious and widely available. The region is culinary famous for its duck and goose products. When it is the time for all kinds of edible mushrooms, they may be picked. Beware!!! Not all mushrooms are edible!
Activities
The area around Le Peyret Bas also offers plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling and mountain biking on country lanes and dirt tracks. In summer, the Dordogne and Lot, beautiful rivers for canoeing. In Villefranche-du-Périgord, there is a public tennis court.

Further remarks
Throughout the year there are flea markets (vide grenier), really worthwhile if you like old and authentic stuff. In the summer holidays, the marché gourmand (food markets) are very popular. At these Marché gourmand you eat, seated at long tables, the products of local and regional growers. There is also plenty for vegetarians to enjoy.
