The house
This well-equipped 1/2 house ( other side is also rented as a gîte) can accommodate up to 8 people + babies (130m2)
Ground floor:
- open kitchen fully equipped, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, oven, cooker, cutlery, cooking utensils
- Large and comfortable dining table. The living room overlooks the private outdoor terrace and the large garden towards the swimming pool
- The pool is secured for children. The private outdoor terrace is equipped with a large round dining table and chairs. A barbecue is available.
- On the ground floor there is a bedroom with 2 single beds and an accessible bathroom with toilet. Ideal for slightly less mobile people.
First floor:
-Bedroom 1: 2 single beds with shared bathroom/toilet
-Bedroom 2: double bed with shared bathroom/toilet.
-Bedroom 3: king-size double bed with private bathroom/toilet
Bed linen and towels are included. Please bring your own pool towel (please do not use bath towels from the cottage). You can rent a pool towel from us if necessary.
Ample parking on and in front of the property.
Heating in the gite is electric and/or wood burning, bedrooms have electric heating.
Things present on arrival to give you a carefree start: Toilet paper, washing-up liquid, kitchen towels, kitchen utensils and products, pepper, salt, sugar, olive oil, essential spices. Free Wifi.
In the period from 01/06/2024 to21/09/2023, this accommodation is only rented per week, from Saturday to Saturday . Also during Easter and Christmas holidays only per week. Other periods with a minimum of 4 nights.

Our gîte is at the end of a hamlet and is almost completely surrounded by vineyards and garden/forest. The gîte is located in the converted barn and is attached to another gîte. The gîte has a private terrace. We are located a 30-km from Bordeaux and close to the A10 and N10 motorways.
All major facilities such as bakery, supermarket, shops are at 3.5 km, 5 km or 10 km.

Wij verbleven met onze familie in gïte Cabernet . Het was ronduit schitterend! Zeer gastvrij onthaal van Annick en Nicholas. Mooie verzorgde authentieke gïte voorzien van alle gerief. Kamers en badkamers picco bello in orde. Ook de zeer ruime tuin en het zwembad waren een absolute meerwaarde. Kortom een vakantieverblijf dat een dikke 10/10 verdient ! Wij zijn fan !

Bordeaux is the region par excellence to let you indulge in culinary pleasures. When it comes to wine, the many chateaus are only too happy to introduce you to their product and let you taste it.
A Côte de Bourg, a Côte de Blaye, a real Haute Medoc...? Discover your favourite. And don't forget to taste a Crémant de Bordeaux.
Come and enjoy all the local specialities of the region: Cannelés de Bordeaux, Gironde fish, duck, pâtés, asparagus, ....
In the vicinity of the cottage, there are several possibilities to go out for dinner when you don't want to cook yourself. From Pizzeria to extensive dining, everything is possible.
Activities
The gîte is quiet but close to all kinds of activities. City golf, surfing, windsurfing, cycling, hiking, kayaking (Dordogne), children's amusement park (La Coccinelle), near a large pond (Saint Christoly de Blaye) with activities (playground, boats, resto ...) The Atlantic Ocean is an hour's drive away. This beautiful coastline offers kilometres of white sandy beaches, charming seaside resorts (e.g. Cap Ferret, Lacanau, Montalivet,...) and beach fun for everyone.
Inland, you can discover wonderful cycling routes.
Visit one of the region's many vineyards. You can also visit by electric scooter. In the Haute Medoc, there are the famous names of Chateau Margaux, St Estephe, Rotschild, etc..
Take a trip to Bordeaux (30 km away) (visitable by guided tour, on foot or by bike), Saint Emilion, Bergerac, Cognac, the seaside resort of Royan or Arcachon. A visit to Dune de Pilat, the highest dune in Europe, is more than worthwhile.
Historical history nearby with the Citadel of Blaye (UNESCO), the prehistoric caves (underground and above ground), the many castles and cave dwellings in the area On our 2.7-hectare estate itself, there is a 6-hole miniature golf course, a double petanque court, a large swimming pool, ping-pong table, trampoline, children's toys,... and 2 donkeys that like to be petted :-).

Further remarks
The gîte and grounds underwent renovations in spring 2022. Upstairs, there are new bathrooms, with walk-in showers.
Since October 2021, we have been the new owners of this beautiful property.
