Gite tres confortable, dans un tres bel environnement. Aucun bruit. Nature superbe, tres belles balades, bois, prairies, lacs, rivieres. Lesley est une hostesse tres sympathique, tres attentive au bien-etre des personnel’s accueillies. Je recommande fortement.

There are restaurants in St Mathieu or further afield at Rochechuart, Montbron, St Junien, and in other towns and local villages.
Activities
You can enjoy trips out to the spectacular surrounding countryside, visit chateaux and the swimming lakes and beauty spots to be found locally. Also on a Wednesday morning the nearby town of Piegut holds a weekly market, Brantomme Market is on Friday morning, Thiviers on a Saturday. Night markets locally, music events of an evening locally weekly. Explore the area and roads by day, shower and relax of an evening in the private garden. 50mins to Limoges Airport. Approx 5.5 hrs to Caen ferry terminal. Plenty to see and do. Swimming lakes, Brantome, Roman Baths at Cassinomagus. The village of Oradour-sur-Glane, destroyed by Nazi German forces in 1944, now maintained as a permanent memorial to the massacre. Walk or cycle in the lovely countryside. In the Haute Viene close to the border of The Dordogne and The Charente. Many places of interest around the area.
Further remarks
There are lakes locally for swimming, water sports. Take a canoe on the river at Montbron. Many nearby sites of interest. Roman Baths at Cassinomagus. The memorial village of Orador Sur Glane, the villagers slaughtered by the Nazis. Visit Brantome or Perigord, either is worth the drive.
