The house
This modern villa houses 2 bedrooms on the first floor, each with its own bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin. On the ground floor is another bedroom in the form of a box bed combined with a spacious bathroom in natural stone. The relaxation room/entrance connects these rooms. The living area with panoramic views over the valley and the river is on the first floor and has a spacious sitting area with wood-burning stove, open-plan kitchen, dining table and desk. Adjacent on this floor is the terrace equipped with a long outdoor table and offers space for enough guests to dine and enjoy the rippling water. On the plancha, you can prepare delicious Limousin meat from the region in no time, or perhaps a trout from the river for the real enthusiast. In the hot tub, too, you can imagine yourself in another world. On the bank, both in front of and behind the house, there is a sun terrace with loungers and plenty of privacy.

The Villa is situated on the south side of a beautiful valley on the River Combade with plenty of privacy. It is an oasis of calm where you will enjoy the rippling water, the excellent view and an exceptionally beautiful starry sky. The house is less suitable for children because of the open stairs, the slope to the river and the quietness of the valley that is respected by its inhabitants. For exceptions, please contact us.

Restaurants, food & wine
22 km from Masleon is the town of limoges, where you can enjoy a variety of good wines and the famous limousin meat.
Recommended at a short distance is ziboinboin in chateauneuf la foret.
In Limoges, la table du couvent is a must, but the city has a host of culinary restaurants and bars.
In summer, many villages organise a vie de grenier (flea market) and harvest festivals with accompanying culinary feasts.
Activities
The Limousin is characterised by its strongly rolling landscape, which is alternated with many rivers, lakes, castles and picturesque villages. It feels as if time has stood still here.
For water sports enthusiasts, fishermen, hikers and nature lovers, this is 'the place to be'. For bongondiers and culture fanatics there is also plenty to do here. The town of Limoges is 22 km away. Here you will find a wealth of restaurants, terraces, shops and museums. Also the city Perigueux is worth a visit. At a small distance from the villa you will find in the village itself a bakery and a grocery shop for the necessary groceries. At 6 km from Masleon in the town of Chateauneuf la foret is a large supermarket and a delicious cafe restaurant where you will be pampered by ann. On every Monday evening in the months July and August there is a party in ségur le château. On the square everyone gathers at long tables to enjoy all kinds of regional dishes. In Bujaluef at 8 km from Masloen you will find lac helene and at 25 km the lake vassivierre where you can swim. Bathing in the river next to the house is also an option. This also applies to the jacuzzi which we are happy to install for you if desired. The house is less suitable for children because of the open stairs, the slope to the river and the quietness that is respected by the inhabitants of the valley.

Geweldig huis op een heerlijke plek. Het huis is tot in de puntjes verzorgd! De locatie is perfect voor gasten die van rust en natuur houden. Je kunt fantastisch fietsen en wandelen in de omgeving. Ook de eigenaren zijn hele fijne mensen. Reageren snel en staan altijd voor je klaar. Wij hebben een geweldige vakantie gehad en zullen hier zeker nog een keertje terugkeren

My wife and I spent a week at Villa Combade and had a wonderful time with our two children. Christophe met us in person and recommended some excellent places to visit, including an amazing community event where you can buy local produce and meat and have it barbecued there and then while enjoying live music! The local lakes were a massive highlight, including the one at Sussac which has a small playground and beach area, as well as the huge Lac de Vassivière which made for a very enjoyable day out (we rented a 2-man kayak for 30mins and only cost €6!) The house is well-equipped and the only minor quibble would be the lack of WiFi, although 4G reception is very good so you can get away with setting up a hotspot on your phone. It’s worth taking note that the smallest bedroom is on the ground floor, separated by steep wooden stairs to the bathroom and the rest of the house, so this might be a consideration for younger children if they’re likely to get up and wander about in the night. The location is charming, with donkeys and cows in the field opposite across the river which runs past the house. There’s a local boulangerie as well as a supermarket within a 10min drive. Both Christophe and Gertjan were very responsive to messages during our stay when we had any queries. Overall, highly recommend!
