The house
Our detached holiday home in southern France is located in a unique spot with unforgettable sunsets in the Lot-et-Garonne department. The house can accommodate 4 adults and 2-3 children. The 400m2 garden has a large covered terrace with outdoor furniture. It adjoins the natural swimming pool where swimming is possible. This unique dark-painted concrete bio pool contains no chlorine but works with special filters, making swimming much healthier for skin and hair. The water is crystal clear thanks to this filtration. There is also an extra terrace by the pool with sun beds, a dining table and chairs. We are active, locally integrated Dutch people who also have horses that we ride outside. If interested, we can tell you more about the possibilities. We can also give you advice on anything but sights, restaurants and markets in the area.

Domaine Le Tournier is located near the village of Thézac 47370 and near the river Lot. It is located in the southwest of France, south of the Dordogne and west of the Lot department, between Bordeaux, Toulouse, Périgord and Gascony. Thézac is situated in the department Lot et Garonne on the border of department Lot and department Tarn et Garonne. In the village itself, especially in the summer months from 1 July to 31 August, many summer activities are planned including markets and music evenings, but also in nearby villages and bastide towns you will find local markets with local producers. The numerous local markets with organic produce, brocante shops, historic bastide towns with their restaurants and beautiful wine chateaus are all part of this fantastic environment. Villeneuve-sur-lot is one of the larger towns nearby, but Bergerac and Cahors are also within easy reach. The area is a real walking paradise with the GR652 (Voie Rocamadour- Saint Jacques de Compostelle) that runs along our domain. But there is also a lot of cycling with mountain bikes and racing bikes.
At the Associative Bistro and bar of Thézac you can have a drink. In the surrounding area, canoes can be hired on the banks of the river Lot, and hikes or bike rides can be made.
This is also an ideal environment for horse lovers. We have devoted ourselves to keeping horses. At this moment we have 5 good rideable horses that are trained in a natural way. We also provide riding lessons and can offer rides outside. We are not a management company but we do everything in a professional way with love for the horses. But if you have nothing to do with animals, this domain is still suitable to enjoy peace and nature. In Thézac it is possible to go along with a coach and make a tour through the surroundings of Thézac.

Een mooi, heel rustig gelegen verblijf met een verfrissend zwembad wat welkom was bij de warmere dagen. Er is een goed contact met de verhuurders die ook ter plaatse in het huis wonen en je wegwijs kunnen maken voor fijne markten of dorpjes. De honden zijn ontzettend zacht naar de kinderen toe. Het was er fijn vertoeven.
Restaurants, food & wine
Lot et Garonne is sometimes called the "Tuscany of France". And that is not without reason. The beautiful landscapes in the Lot et Garonne are eye-catching.
Thanks to an abundance of water and a wide variety of agriculture and lime, Lot-et-Garonne is one of France's most important producers of fruit and vegetables and is especially known for its harvest of plums, walnuts, strawberries and the grapes for its wine. The landscape is beautiful with rolling hills, history and numerous charming villages and castles.
Visitors will be impressed by the great cuisine, joie de vivre and markets of local producers.
With around 1000 events each year, from rock concerts to traditional folk bands, from historical events to modern theatre, there is something for everyone in the Lot et Garonne. Wine chateaus can also be visited for tasting and/or buying fine wines. This region is well known for its good Cahors and Thézac-Perricard wines from grape varieties such as Malbec, Merlot, Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng. Should you be interested in a wine tasting, there are several good (biological) wine houses, also in Thézac. Interesting cities and bastide towns in the area to visit for wine, markets, brocanteens and restaurants are Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Bergerac, Agen, Cahors, Montauban, among others. But the nearby towns such as Floressas, Pujols, Tournon d'Agenais, Puy l'Eveque, Monflanquin, Monpazier, Lougratte, Villeréal, Penne d'Agenais and many other small villages and bastide towns are well worth a visit. We can tell you more about them.
Activities
Close by is the Lot River where canoes can be hired. Numerous local markets with organic local produce, brocanteries, historic bastide towns with their restaurants and beautiful wine chateaus are part of the area. Villeneuve-sur-lot is one of the nearby larger towns, but Bergerac and Cahors are a short distance away. The area is a real hiking paradise with the GR652 (Voie Rocamadour- Saint Jacques de Compostelle) running alongside our property. For horse lovers, too, this really is an ideal environment. We have devoted ourselves to keeping horses. We currently have 5 well-ridden horses that are trained naturally. We also provide riding lessons and can offer outdoor rides. Everything in consultation, we are not a management company but we do everything in a professional way with love for the horses. But if you have nothing to do with animals, this domain is still suitable for enjoying peace and nature.
