The house
There are 3 bedrooms in the chateau, 2 luxury suites are on the first floor - The Princess Suite which sleeps 6 , and The Prince Suite which sleeps 3. These both have designer luxury bathrooms. The Petite Princess is a pretty bedroom on the ground floor which sleeps up to 4 in 2 vintage French double beds with it's own private shower room.
In addition, there is a separate studio apartment adjacent to another building on site with a double bed, sleeping 2 with en-suite shower room which is also available to rent - Le Studio at Chateau Mareuil (see separate ad). A newly renovated barn is now our stylish "Petit Donjon" which sleeps up to 6 (see separate ad). We have travel cots and high chairs for babies and toddlers.
The chateau has an elegant, but cosy salon with a significant fireplace, it also boasts a large antique dining table and chairs for more formal dining. Next door is a large well equipped kitchen with table and chairs for more informal meals.

Close to the picturesque town of Montmorillon, Mareuil sits in it's own domain in a glorious rural setting with pretty fields, sheep, trees, birds and wildlife all around. The chateau has a river running through the grounds to the rear and 800m of private river banks. The chateau has extensive gardens and an exclusive "sky garden" set high amongst trees.

Restaurants, food & wine
Chateau Mareuil is close to the town of Montmorillon, where there are a number of restaurants to choose from, amongst them, "Lucullus" and "Le Romain des Sauveurs". A little further is "Les Orangeries", a Michelin recomended restaurant in Lussac le Chateaux. About 15 minutes away, are more local restaurants, "Le Relais" at St Martin-le-Mault and "Chez ma Pomme" at Tersannes. Most guests opt to eat at least once at the chateau during their stay - a delicious 4 course dinner with wine is available at €39 per head.

Further remarks
An idyllic, peaceful, historic retreat set in the beautiful French countryside of the Vienne region. An easy day's drive from Belgium and Holland and within an hour of Limoges airport and just over an hour from Poitiers, Chateau Mareuil is easily accessible by road from the English Channel crossings in the North. The beautiful climate means you will be able to take full advantage of the luxury 12m x 6m pool during the Summer months.
