A tranquil setting nestled in the foothills of the Midi-Pyrénées, on the edge of the village with a boulangerie, boucherie, bar and restaurant. The town of Lavelanet with larger shops and facilities is just 10 minutes by car. Local attractions are the Château de Montsegur, Fontaine des Fontestorbes, Crapahut adventure park and the Voie Verte cycle path along the old railway line from Mirepoix to Lavelanet.

A La Patate Qui Fume: A small but lovely restaurant with excellent food, just in the village of Montsegur before you get to the Château. Best to call in advance.
Dorival: Newly re-opened with new owners, a pleasant small restaurant just a shortwalk from the lake in Puivert.
K’Bane Fontestorbes: The closest restaurant to us is just a ten minute walk towards the Fontaine deFontestorbes. It is amongst the trees just next to the Crapahut adventure
park. Lovely for just a drink, Tapas or a full menu. Open lunchtime and evening (not Monday evening).
Le moulin de l'évêque: OPEN MONDAY EVENINGS ! Yes, the only restaurant within 20 minutes drive that we know is open onMondays. Lucky for us and for you, they have a very
priced menu at lunchtime. This is one of our favourite places for lunch, we have not been for dinner. The food is great and the owners are lovely people.
Le refuge gourmand: Another of our favourite lunch places with a lovely terrace and a Spanish influence. Best to phone to check opening times as they do vary.
Pré du bonheur: Just two minutes drive or a 30 minute walk towards Fougax et Barineuf you will find this nice restaurant with a terrace. The food is very good but be
warned, the portion sizes are very large (for us anyway)!

Many opportunities for hiking in the mountains, and of course the winter sports of skiing, nordic walking and racquettes.
The town of Lavelanet with larger shops and facilities is just 10 minutes by car.
Local attractions are the Château de Montsegur, Fontaine des Fontestorbes, Crapahut adventure park and the glorious Voie Verte cycle path along the old railway line from Mirepoix to Lavelanet.
The lakes at Quillan and Montbel are 15 minutes away.
Fishing is available locally (licence required) and we have a selection of tackle for you to borrow.
Andorra can be reached in around 90 minutes, as can the beaches in Perpignan.
Closest airports are Carcassone and Toulouse (both 75 minutes).

Off-road parking is available free of charge. Garden is shared with owners and two cats. Maximum occupancy 2 adults. No pets. No smoking in the apartment but smoking permitted in all outdoor areas.
