The house
This charming gîte offers a bright, open-plan living space designed for comfort and relaxation. The modern kitchen, lounge, and dining area flow seamlessly together, creating an inviting space to cook, dine, and unwind.
There are two double bedrooms. The main bedroom is located on the ground floor and enjoys views across the gardens towards the distant mountains. It is furnished with a super king-size bed, wardrobe, fan, and hairdryer, providing a calm and spacious retreat. The second bedroom is situated on a mezzanine level accessed from the lounge and looks out towards the Pyrénées. Please note that this mezzanine space has a low beam.
The gîte also features a ground-floor shower room with WC.
You’ll find all the comforts of home, including a TV and DVD player, USB charging points, Bluetooth speakers, and free Wi-Fi throughout. The fully equipped kitchen includes an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, and kettle.
Outside, guests can enjoy secure gated access and an alarmed swimming pool with sun loungers and parasols. Pool towels are provided. A summer kitchen with BBQ and outdoor dining area is located in your own private garden—perfect for relaxed evenings and al fresco meals.
All bed linen and towels are included in the price, and onsite laundry facilities are available for guests to use. For families, cots, highchairs, potties, and stair gates can be provided on request. If you require any additional baby or child equipment or toys, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Dating back several centuries, our charming gîtes sit in secluded gardens around a large enclosed swimming pool, creating a welcoming haven for couples, families and larger groups alike.
Perfectly placed near Mirepoix, Carcassonne and Toulouse
Just a few minutes from the medieval market town of Mirepoix, you’ll discover a lively square framed by half-timbered houses, bustling markets, and cafés spilling onto cobbled streets. From here, it’s easy to explore Carcassonne, Toulouse, Foix and Limoux, with the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean coast both within easy reach.

There are many fantastic restaurants in and around Mirepoix serving great local food. Here are a few of our current favourites:
Clos des Oliviers
Since opening in 2023, Clos de Oliviers has firmly established itself as one of the best restaurants in Mirepoix. Serving gourmet cuisine inspired by the seasons and local products, you can choose to sit outside in the beautiful terrace, or inside in the tastefully decorated restaurant.
Saint Maurice
This family-friendly restaurant is situated in the square in Mirepoix and serves a great selection of food throughout the day.
L'Autre Jardin
Located on the Cr Colonel Petitpied in Mirepoix, this restaurant is tucked away but has a pretty private garden for dining. The menu is small, but the food served is of high quality. Each Friday, they serve a Sushi menu, which is delicious. It is advisable to make a reservation.
Le Casti
On the main square in Mirepoix, Le Casti serves excellent cocktails and a tapas menu, making it a great spot to while away your time while watching the world go by. Please note that they do not provide a separate children's menu.
Le Comptoir Gourmand
Situated off the main square in Mirepoix, this is a great little restaurant with a good seasonal menu and fantastic wines.
Green Bazare Cafe
Vegetarian café just off the Mirepoix main square serves lovely food, all seasonal and locally produced.
La Flambée
At the far end of Mirepoix square, they offer a wide menu choice, including a big selection of pizzas, which you can also take away. In summer, it is advisable to reserve a table.
Le Clos Saint Martin La Metairie
This restaurant is located 15 minutes away towards Pamiers. It has a beautiful garden to sit out and relax over lunch, but it is also very nice inside. The food is fantastic, and there is a good choice.
Chateau de Camon
This is a beautiful restaurant perfect for special occasions., the food is excellent. Booking is advised.
Le Regate
This is located on the Leran side of Lac Montbel, and is a really lovely spot for lunch overlooking the lake.
La Crêperie de Lac
La Crêperie de Lac Located near Montbel village, this is a nice little restaurant. In the summer, it has a bouncy castle park attached to it
Activities
If you're looking for adventure you've come to the right spot. Our region is an outdoor lover's playground with plenty of activities to appeal to every age group. And the best part? It's all on our doorstep. Here are our current favourites:
HIKING
There are hundreds of kilometres of hiking and cycling paths right across Ariege and Aude. Simply walk out of our gates and you’ll come across idyllic walking and cycling routes through some of the finest countryside. For a detailed list of walks and hikes click here.
La Voie Verte
This 38km bike and foot path created on a former railway line connects Mirepoix and Lavelanet, the scenery is beautiful and you get to walk through some pretty villages.
The Path of the Winemakers Huts
At the foot of the Pic de Brau, located near Magrie, this walk takes you through the vineyards and huts of winemakers who watch over this place which is steeped in history.
CYCLING
Our region is the perfect location for cyclists with its mountains, picturesque canals and stunning gorges. Throw in vibrant towns and peaceful countryside to the mix and you have the ideal cycling destination.
Bike hire
What better way to explore this beautiful countryside than by bike, we can arrange hire and delivery of your bikes right to your gite. Please let us know if you require more information.
HORSE RIDING
During the summer holidays (July and August), Pole Equestrede Leran are based on the shores of Lake Montbel . They offer several horseback riding itineraries from 1 hour to 1 day depending on your desires and your riding level : from beginner to advanced.
WATERSPORTS
Lac de Montbel is a popular location for fishing, watersports and swimming and is located a few minutes’ drive away.
Kayaking is also available from Camon and Mirepoix down the River Hers
ACCROBRANCHING (also known as Go Ape or Zip Lining)
We have two adventure parks within 30 minutes of your gites. Crapahut Adventure Park is located in Belesta and Appy Parc Accrobranche is next to Lac Montbel. Both parks provide zip lines in the trees, all safely observed by experts. Click on their names for opening times.
GO KARTING
Base de Loisirs offers a 1400m go kart circuit for children aged 5+. Located between Mirepoix and Lavelane, there’s also a bouncy castle, electric bike rental and paintball to tire the kids out.
SKIING
The nearest ski resorts to Montcabirol are Monts D'Olmes and Ax les Thermes which are located under an hour away. Ax offers a wide choice of blue, red and black runs in the forest or in altitude. It’s also a great place for sledging, biking on snow, snake glisse and paragliding. This mountain village is incredibly welcoming with its pedestrian streets, market, restaurants and shops so well worth a visit all year round.
