Our little hamlet of three houses and three barns is situated at an altitude of 800 m in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of the Ariegean Pyrenees. Surrounded by meadows where cows, horses and woods graze, this small hamlet is located on a small sunny plateau overlooking the Garbet valley and just opposite the majestic Mont Valier, the emblematic summit of the Couserans.
Our houses made of natural stone, wood and slate have been restored with a lot of love and work over the last thirty years.
A lot of dedication has also gone into the large flower garden.
Our ecological commitment allows the local flora and fauna to find refuge in Anilac, we have many birds nesting here, lizards basking in the sun, salamanders showing up after the rain, squirrels jumping from tree to tree, sometimes we can even see an eagle or two flying over Anilac, deer show up more in the autumn, orchids proliferate in the spring, etc.....

The resort of Guzet, located in the heart of the Ariege Pyrenees, is characterised by its 370 chalets nestled in a forest of fir trees. Its 40 km of slopes divided into 3 sectors offer a variety of itineraries for every style of skiing: . The Prat Mataou, to discover skiing on gentle slopes in the heart of the fir trees and its access to the slopes of La Trappe at 1100m. . Guzet 1400m with its snowpark, its Freeride area (marked out and secured), slopes of all levels for the family and even a slalom stadium. . Restaurants, food & wine
The Couserans is a Gascon country and a mountain country, therefore cheese and charcuterie are king.
A well known dish is the cassoulet (called here in patois mounjetade) as well as the garbure (peasant soup). The trouts of the mountain streams are delicious.
Activities
For your leisure time, the surrounding mountains invite you to go for quiet walks in search of the first orchids in spring, ceps and chanterelles in autumn.
The starting points for sporting mountain hikes to the peaks, waterfalls and high lakes are just a few kilometres away.
Fishing enthusiasts will also find their happiness in the surrounding rivers; the Garbet 4km, the Salat 6 km etc or in the mountain lakes. Trout are abundant but wild and not easily caught......
In the surrounding area, you can also practice: horse riding, mountain biking, road cycling, paragliding, golf, gliding, canoeing, caving etc. .......
Finally, the Ariège is a land of history, you can visit prehistoric caves such as Niaux or the Mas d'Azil, castles and medieval towns, Romanesque churches or simply admire the landscapes on the many panoramic roads

Very nice quiet house, lovely garden and view (photo), well equipped. We enjoyed the floorheating on some colder evenings (altitude is 770 mtr) although we had most time sunny weather.
The owners know a lot about the Ariege and supplied us with useful information about hikes and musea. You could speak with them in French, English and German or all together!
WiFi is working, mobile phone works outside the house uphill.
