The house
The holiday home is situated in a very quiet valley among olive trees, vineyards and lavender fields. There is complete privacy, no neighbours, and yet close to the inhabited world.
The house (all on the ground floor) consists of a bathroom with toilet, shower and washbasin, kitchen/living room with all the necessary comfort (fridge with freezer, oven, coffee machine, Senseo, ...) and 1 bedroom with 1 double bed.
In the living room it is possible to transform the sofa into a double bed. There is a TV, radio and a wood-burning stove.
The kitchen/living room opens onto a covered terrace with a table and chairs, in the garden 2 sunbeds are provided. From the terrace you can enjoy a magnificent view of the valley.
A barbecue is provided for your enjoyment. There is also an open-air shower. It is advisable to arrive by daylight, otherwise it will be more difficult to find the place. There is a petanque court and several natural sitting areas. You can park your car in the shade (in a small wood). From the parking to the house you descend a natural stone staircase.
Please bring with you: bath and kitchen towels, fitted sheet (bed 160 cm), duvet cover (240 cm).
(Caravans & mobilhomes are forbidden because of municipal regulations, moreover, our access road is too steep for this!)

The house is situated on a private property of about 1.5 ha with Mediterranean vegetation. There is complete privacy, a beautiful view of the Provençal landscape, no neighbours, but without being far away from the inhabited world. All photos were taken at the property. Car can be parked in the shade.

We hebben een 2de keer genoten van een fantastische vakantie in Monteil. Zeer geschikt voor mensen die houden van rust en wandelen. Maar ook alle toeristische plekken zijn nooit veraf. Het domein is fantastisch, het huisje goed uitgerust en knus. Voor ons een aanrader.

Leuk eenvoudig vakantiehuisje op een afgelegen plek maar goed bereikbaar
Prachtige rustige omgeving , met elke dag wel ergens een markt
Of lekker zwemmen in de rivier de ceze op ongeveer 5 km afstand.

Wij hebben in deze eenvoudige woning een heerlijke week vakantie gevierd. De contacten met de eigenaar verliepen prima en alles klopte zoals was afgesproken. Het huisje ligt wat afgelegen, maar winkels zijn met 5 minuten te bereiken. De uitrusting is uitstekend en volop apparaten om goed te kunnen koken en bakken.
De omgeving is prachtig. Zowel de Cêze als de Ardeche liggen op korte afstand. Wel moet je flink dalen om de Ardeche van de zuidkant te bereiken. Ook staat het voetpad niet erg duidelijk aangegeven. Maar de afdaling van 200m is goed te doen.
De situering van het huisje is prima. Het brede zitgedeelte met heerlijke ligbeden is op het zuiden gericht. Bomen zorgen ervoor dat je de hele dag kunt kiezen voor zon of schaduw.
We hopen er zeker nog eens terug te komen.
Restaurants, food & wine
Don't forget to visit the local vineyards and their tastings. There are plenty of good French restaurants in the area; at least in the neighbouring towns such as Orgnac (3 km), Barjac (10 km), Goudarques (12 km).
Activities
It goes without saying that the house may be considered an ideal starting point for hikers and especially for cyclists because of its unspoilt nature and beautiful views. In the summer period there is swimming in the nearby river the 'Cèze' and in 'la piscine municipale' of Orgnac at ca. 4 km.
The cottage is the ideal base for memorable excursions to:
* L'Aven d'Orgnac: world famous listed cave complex
* Cities: Orange, Avignon, Nîmes, Bagnols, Pont du Gard, Vallon Pont d'Arc, Pont St.Esprit, Barjac, Goudargues, etc...
