The house
The house is situated on a corner of a small quiet, square in the old town of Meze. It has been recently restored by the interior designer, owner, in retro sixties style with a great attention to detail to ensure a high standard of modern comfort. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms all windows are double glazed and it is air conditioned on the first and second floors.
The house is on three floors. The first floor has a light and airy open plan kitchen living area. The fully fitted kitchen has an electric oven, hob, dishwasher microwave and large fridge freezer with plenty of work surface and storage. There are table and chairs for six, with a comfortable sofa and chair. There is a wall mounted TV for your use.
The second floor has a bedroom with custom built bunk beds being full sized single beds with comfortable mattresses suitable for adults or children. The master bedroom has a king sized (150cms) double bed and en-suite shower room. The bedroom has lovely views across the Etang de Thau oyster beds to Sete. The en-suite shower room has a pretty flower patterned sink and purpose built shower unit. Both bedrooms have ample storage and hanging space. There is a separate WC in the hallway.
On the ground floor is a further bathroom with a roll top bath, sink and WC. The washing machine is also housed here.
There is plenty of parking either in the square or within 50yds of the house. The beach and port of Meze is a five minute stroll. A wifi internet connection is available. The house has steep stairs which may not be suited to folks with limited mobility. hairdryer provided

Situated in a quite square close to the centre of the town. Large choice of bars restaurants a short stroll away. Also two sandy, safe swimming beaches onto the Lagoon. A choice of larger beaches are can be found a short drive away between Sete and Marseillan. Meze is a small fishing port surrounded by oyster beds. Public tennis courts and a full range of water sports are available, also a theatre and cinema.

Donkey Cottage is perfect for a small family holiday - just the right size, well equipped and nicely decorated and in a perfect location. Meze is just great, unpretentious, welcoming and with everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

Een heerlijke stek op een fijne locatie, dichtbij het strand, de haven en het gezellige centrum van Meze. Het huis is smaakvol ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien (airco, vaatwasser, wasmachine). Wij hebben genoten van ons verblijf!

Wat een heerlijke plek op een geweldige locatie! Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien, netjes, erg leuk ingericht en schoon. De eigenaresse is een erg lieve en vriendelijke vrouw .
Vanuit het huis het een paar honderd meter lopen naar het eerste strandje ( ± 3 min lopen ) idem naar het centrum. Het is geen over toeristisch gebied, regelmatig leuke activiteiten in het dorpje, voldoende restaurantjes aanwezig.
Vanuit Mèze zijn er eventueel nog genoeg dagtripjeste maken in de omgeving.
Kortom: wij (vader en dochter) hebben een heerlijke tijd hie gehad en komen graag weer een keer terug. Donkey Cottage is echt een aanrader, qua woning & locatie!
Restaurants, food & wine
The area is renown for its oysters and shell fish you will find a vast choice of eateries including local producers offering shellfish platters and a glass of wine. The perfect wine to drink is the locally produced Picpoul. In the vineyards surrounding Meze you will find many wine producers happy to let you try before you buy.

There are marked cycling and hiking paths around the town and surroundings. Maps are available at the local tourist office.
