The house
A lovely place for those seeking peace and nature, yet close to the lively town of Saint-Chinian.
A bright, renovated house, with open kitchen, 2 bedrooms, French doors to the sunny covered terrace, set in grounds of almost 2 hectares of woodland.
You share this land with the owners who have their house about 50 metres away. The 2 cottages are very private from one another. Nobody looks on your terrace.
From the house you have a beautiful view over the rolling vineyards as far as Saint-Chinian!
La Pineda is located in the Parc Naturel Régional, an area of great natural beauty where beautiful walks and bike rides can be made.
Also very suitable for a winter stay, also because of the efficient and cosy Godin wood-burning stove. And in summer a lovely outdoor shower to cool down.

La Pineda is located just outside the small village of Donnadieu in the heart of the Saint-Chinian vineyards. There is little traffic on the narrow roads to Babeau-Bouldoux and Saint-Chinian.

Over deze accommodatie kunnen we kort zijn: voldeed werkelijk aan al onze verwachtingen en we hebben er een heerlijke tijd beleefd! De omgeving – voor ons nieuw – is karakteristiek met al zijn wijngaarden en het uitzicht vanaf het terras is wat dat betreft uniek. De beschrijvingen over de mogelijkheden van de omgeving kloppen (zelf gefietst en talloze bewegwijzerde MTB-trails tegen gekomen) en ook op het van alle gemakken voorziene huis is niets aan te merken. Eet, drink, rust, geniet en begrijp waar het spreekwoord “Leven als God in Frankrijk” vandaan komt!

In juli 2017 verbleven in ons achtste huis en nieuwste huis van Monique en Reinoud: La Pineda in Donnadieu. Prachtig uitzicht over de heuvels en de wijngaarden. Zoals onze dochter zei “alsof je in een schilderij kijkt”!Lommerrijke plekjes/zitjes op het grote terrein. Echte schaduw onder de bomen als het nodig is. Op de fiets ‘s-ochtends brood halen in St. Chinian (5 km) en ‘s-avonds een ongelooflijke sterrenhemel. Heel veel wandelmogelijkheden, direct uit het huis. Ook heerlijk om de hond uit te laten op paadjes en in de druivenvelden. Het huis(je) zelf is gelijkvloers en compact zoals dat heet maar daardoor is het ook knus. Zoals gewoonlijk leuk ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien. En die rust…..

Restaurants, food & wine
Saint-Chinian is a famous regional wine centre with (wine) shops, restaurants and terraces. There is a lively market twice a week in the square under the plane trees on Thursdays and Sundays. Saturday flea markets are often held in the same place.
Activities
Near the river Orb, there are several beaches where you can swim, but also around St Chinian you can cool down in the small river Vernazobre; The beaches of the Mediterranean Sea are about 45 minutes driving from La Pineda.
Canoeing on the Orb is exciting and relaxing at the same time. You can descend individually in a kayak or with more in a larger canoe. There are different departure points and distances: Roquebrun, Cessenon or Tarrassac. Along the way, you can picnic on a beach along the river. Whatever you choose, it is relaxation for the whole family.
In the house are several hiking books, from the house it is beautiful walking.
