The house
Le jardin aux lilas is located in a charming village in the midst of the beautiful Lot valley. The Lot region has still managed to retain its charm and authentic character.
The house stands independently in a rocky spacious garden with plateaus and is equipped with all contemporary comforts. It dates from 1880 but was completely renovated in 2012 and offers views of the meadows and the castle.
The house is located 3 km from Cajarc where the main utilities are available.
The kitchen forms one entity with the dining room from which it is separated by a breakfast bar and is equipped with dishwasher, oven, ceramic hob, built-in microwave and fridge with freezer.
There is a large living room and large dining room with fireplace. The rooms have central heating.
There are three bedrooms, including one very large room with double bed (1m40 x 2m)and single bed ( 1m15 wide). The second spacious bedroom contains a double bed (1m40 x 2m) with cot. Both large rooms are located on the first floor.
A third room, on the ground floor contains a bunk bed. Both large rooms have air conditioning. Central heating on the ground floor.
The swimming pool is located in a part of the garden, is ready to use and is equipped with sun loungers. An open terrace adjacent to the lounge brings coolness in hot days and is equipped with a garden table and chairs. BBQ is provided. There is a second terrace at the front.
The spacious renovated bathroom is on the ground floor.

Le jardin aux lilas is located in a charming village, in the middle of the beautiful valley of the Lot. The Lot region is one of the few that has still managed to preserve its charm and authentic character. The house is located 3 km from Cajarc where the main utilities are available. It is a cosy village with lots of activities during the summer months. Everywhere in the region there are atmospheric markets and you can take a terrace where you can enjoy a delicious meal at very democratic prices.
Cajarc and the surrounding villages are on the pilgrimage route of St.Jacques de Compostelle. You will meet many pilgrims on your walks, even sometimes on the donkey. At a few kilometres distance, you will find numerous worthwhile castles and picturesque villages to visit (Rocamadour, Saint Cirque- Lapopie...), as well as a number of famous caves.
The area also lends itself perfectly to the artists among you, talented or not. Living as God in France is really the motto here. In this part of France with few tourists, time seems to stand still now and then. An ideal place for a relaxing holiday.

Heerlijk ruim huis van alle gemakken voorzien. De twee grote slaapkamers hebben airco en dat was met 39 graden erg prettig. Cajarc is een leuke plaats voor alle boodschappen, om wijn te proeven en uit eten te gaan, vegetarisch is moeilijk te vinden in Frankrijk. Geregeld gebruik gemaakt van het zwembad en de ijsblokjesmachine was een prettig extra. Rocamadour, Saint Cirq Lapopie, Cahors zijn ook prachtig. In de omgeving kun je mooie lange of kortere wandelingen maken. Mooie omgeving, prettige ontvangst. Raad het huis zeker aan.

Dit jaar (2018) waren we voor de tweede keer op vakantie in dit mooie vakantiehuis. We hebben al meerdere vakantiehuizen gehuurd de afgelopen jaren, maar dit huis heeft echt het mooiste zwembad dat we tot nu toe hebben gezien. Het huis zelf is ook van alle gemakken voorzien. Ideaal in deze warme zomer waren de airo's in de slaapkamers. De verhuurders Chantal en René zijn ook nog eens hele aardige en behulpzame mensen! In de regio hebben we diverse marktjes bezocht. Onder andere Cahors (klein uurtje rijden) is leuk om te "shoppen", én er is een fantastisch uitzichtpunt "mont saint-Cyr". Dit vakantiehuis is dus een echte aanrader, ook wanneer je gewoon even na het hectische leven van-alle-dag lekker wilt bijkomen en uitrusten.

Zeer sfeervolle compleet ingerichte gite. Het zwembad is top. Prachtig uitzicht over de Lot . Eigenaar is zeer behulpzaam per mail en telefoon . Verder is er een vriendelijk lokaal contact persoon. Het nabij gelegen Cajarc heeft alles wat je nodig hebt en is ook nog erg gezellig. Het huis is gunstig gelegen om uitstapjes naar de wijde omgeving te maken.
Restaurants, food & wine
The region is famous for its wines (Cahors and Gaillac) and there are many winegrowers where you can restock your wine cellar at a relatively cheap price.
Goat cheese, duck end products (such as foie gras magret de canard), snails and truffles are among the specialities of the region. Because of the pilgrimage route, the restaurants are numerous. The inhabitants here are extremely friendly and willing to help.
Activities
About 500m from the house, you can glide to the plain of the Lot. For divers, there are the famous underground caves at the edge of Cadrieu. Tennis can be played in Cajarc.
Located near the Lot, the region offers the possibility of practicing water sports such as canoeing and water skiing and further on, near Figeac, rafting. This is also a paradise for fishermen. There are a number of riding schools in the vicinity, where special attention is paid to the children. A day trip is one of the possibilities.

Further remarks
We expect the tenants to keep the house tidy as good housekeepers. A deposit will be refunded one week after departure.
