The house
The access road to the cottage has been somewhat repaired after a landslide two years ago, so is now accessible by car again.... Upon arrival, or if you have a lot of shopping, or if it is too hot, you can now (via a diversion) reach the cottage by car again, fortunately! You can also park your car 80m. away at our other house which is higher up and reach the cottage on foot. Le Petit Cournou gives you complete freedom.....u feel completely on your own here! The cottage is surrounded by nature with a beautiful unobstructed view.... contactless arrival and departure is quite possible here! But let's hope this is less urgent next season!!! Suitable for peace seekers, nature lovers and hikers! It has a lovely micro-climate. In the cottage is a thick book with enthusiastic comments from the tenants! I read to you from this; "It was lovely here. Our first week so really rested. We did a lot of reading, puzzling and walking! How beautiful nature is. And what peace and quiet. "

The old stone cottage is in an idyllic spot in the middle of nature . You enter through the covered terrace, into one large living space. In this space you will find the living room with kitchenette and at the back a sleeping area with a double bed. There is a shower with washbasin and a WC. A staircase leads to the ground floor (former cave). Here too one room, with three beds , a corner with sink and washing machine and a second WC. There are clean fresh beds and all the necessary things to make you holiday a success! One downside; there is no dishwasher...😂....

Entirely free in nature. A few kilometres from Montcuq. The house is not accessible by car, there is a parking for you .It is on its own grounds of 2.5 ha. Has views of the village of Rouillac. A great place for people and animals if you love peace and nature! I kindly ask you to take care of the geraniums in the flower boxes during your stay...Other than that, just enjoy your stay here!

Ce gîte est dans un environnement très paisible. Il est rustique mais bien équipé; parfait pour un couple. C'est ce que nous cherchions. Marjan est très gentille: une bouteille de Cahors nous attendait à notre arrivée et en milieu de séjour, elle est venue nous saluer et nous a offert une pastèque de sa production. Sanitaires, cuisine, vaisselle tout était très propre.

Ook wij hebben hier twee weken heel erg genoten.
De bloemenpracht in de tuin geeft een grote variëteit aan vlinders die we in Nederland nog nooit gezien hebben,
waaronder de kolibrievlinders.
Het mooie geluid van de Wielewaal maakte ons iedere ochtend en avond blij.
We hebben ook erg genoten van de vriendelijkheid van de mensen in deze streek.
Het kanoën op de Cele is een grote aanrader.
Soms zagen we de schattige Zevenslapers langskomen.
Wat een leuke diertjes zijn dit.
De eigenaren waren erg vriendelijk en gastvrij.

Een pareltje verscholen in het bos, wat een geweldig huisje , echt super,alles is aanwezig , ! We hebben genoten , super mooie omgeving, leuke dorpjes , contact met Marjan was super.Op de dag van aankomst kregen we een berichtje of we goed waren aangekomen en alles naar wens was, er stonden heerlijke! tomaten, een watermeloen en een flesje wijn klaar.wat een geweldig ontvangst, en wat een rust , we hebben heerlijk kunnen slapen in de Cave, heerlijke matrassen en heerlijk koel beneden met die warmte, een gezellig terrasje , eigenlijk te veel om op te noemen, heerlijke vijgen gegeten die we zo konden plukken .We hadden totaal geen zin om naar huis te gaan. en alle beestjes die je hoort zowel overdag als in de avond, eekhoorntjes naast het huis, zevenslaper , krekels, vogels, hertjes . En de wandelaars die er voorbij komen langs de route de Compastella, is toch ook wel gezellig .Wat een geweldige vakantie. We kregen een kistje heerlijke tomaten mee naar huis.We hopen volgend jaar weer terug te komen !!, groetjes Ralph, Jolanda en ons hondje Senna
Restaurants, food & wine
On the culinary front, you can go anywhere to taste the delicious local dishes ... the delicious ripe fruit, fresh vegetables, sun-ripened tomatoes , fine cheeses and cheeses and delicious meats. Everything is, of course, for sale fresh directly from the farmer , organic or not and at the market on Sunday mornings....
On the wine front, there is plenty to visit and taste of course, in the beautiful Cahor region, in the Lot valley. And good restaurants are there too!
And a visit to the pizzeria de Etna in Lauzerte, is really recommended; an original wood-fired oven, real Neapolitan pizzas, prepared with fresh local produce..... that probably won't stop there...
Activities
It is a place to enjoy, of nature, silte, freedom and to take nice walks or enjoy a good book, on the terrace or outside in the shade of a tree..In summer, for a refreshing dip there is the beautiful "plan d'eau" in Montcuq, with excellent water quality. You will receive from us a gtratis free access to this bathing water .
A place to disconnect from everyday life, enjoy the delicious products of the Montcuq market and do nothing else!
The pilgrims' route to St. Jacques de Compostelle passes close by, nice to occasionally meet people from all over the world... Other than that, you won't be bothered at all. You can also use your E-bike, which of course can be charged for free! It's a wonderful environment for it, with paths everywhere and described routes....
If you want something different, canoeing on the Lot or on the smaller river Vers is a nice change. Or for refreshment, go to the swimming lake in Montcuq. We also have internet here now, via excellent wi-fi! So there's really no reason not to book!
