The house
As soon as you enter this house you’ll love the open plan interior, it is light, bright, spacious and colourful. The living area has a leather sofa and 2 arm chairs, coffee table and a huge fire place, the patio doors lead straight out to the garden.
The dining table can be expanded to seat 6 with ease.
The fully equipped kitchen has a microwave, oven, fridge with small freezer, ceramic hob and dishwasher, the window looks out over the garden. There is a house bathroom next to the kitchen which has a bath with overhead shower, washbasin and toilet.
There is one double en suite bedroom on the ground floor with a shower, toilet and washbasin it also has patio doors leading to the garden.
There are two separate good sized mezzanine bedrooms. One is over the double bedroom and has a double bed, a small settee with chair, clothes storage, the other mezzanine bedroom is over the kitchen and has a click clack sofa bed and a small chair that can pull out for a child’s bed, a couple of chairs and clothes storage. A family of 4, 5 or 6 would be comfortable here.
Outside there’s a lovely private garden with a large dining table under the shade of the wisteria, outside seating and a bbq

The house is located on the edge of the village with a private garden so you can enjoy outside dining and just lazing around the garden. From the house you can also go and enjoy some lovely walks. Please feel free to bring bicycles, it’s a great area for cyclists

There’s a reasonable choice of cafés bars and restaurants to choose from in some of the larger villages offering a variety of meals and food options. As we are in a huge wine area, you’ll find so many places to try some great local produce. There are various outdoor weekly markets which are always popular
Activities
The village of Saint Martin de Fenouillet is located in the Fenouilledes region of the eastern Pyrenees and is a great base for exploring the area. Yes you’ll need a car to get around but you’re not really far from the amazing cathare castles of Queribus, Peyrepertuse and Puilaurens - all worth a visit. The Roman aqueduct at Ansignan which is still used today for watering the gardens,
White water rafting in Axat which is good fun but not always for the feint hearted and yes, you’ll end up in the water at some point.
Along the beautiful Agly valley you’ll see the villages of Caudies de Fenouilledes and its medieval ramparts, Saint Paule de Fenouillet which is the main place for food shopping, fuel, cafes and banks then theres Maury and Estagel and beyond those places you’ll get to the lovely city of Perpignan and the coast of the Mediterranean and dont forget, this region is a big wine area so you’ll be doing very well if you get around a third of them.
With in a few minutes drive from the house you have places to swim. There’s an outdoor pool in 2 villages, Fosse which is open 6 afternoons a week and Pratts de Sournia.

When you arrive at the house, please make sure you only park in front of the white garage door and not on the driveway next to the house, it does not belong to the house
